Vráchos offers a clear beach-focused experience. Loutsa Beach is right next to Vráchos Beach. Nearby, Vráchos–Loutsa Beach stretches for kilometres as a continuous sandy shoreline through a wooded landscape. The seabed is sandy too, and the water gradually gets deeper.

Culture and activities in the wider destination of Preveza
In the wider destination of Preveza, the Archaeological Museum of Nikopolis presents the city’s more than thousand-year history through various aspects of its residents’ private and public lives. At the archaeological site of Nikopolis, one main route and six secondary routes connect nine monumental areas. The museum and site have different focuses: the exhibition explores history through the lives of the residents, while the routes link the monumental areas spatially.
Preveza’s historic buildings also reflect different periods. In the historic city centre stands the Venetian Clock Tower, dating from 1752. The Church of Agios Athanasios is one of the oldest churches in Preveza: it was built during Venetian rule in the early 18th century and is known for rare frescoes from 1780. The Pantokratoras Fortress was built in the early 19th century at the behest of Ali Pasha, to plans by the French engineer Yadocourt. Its location served to give complete control over shipping at the entrance to the Amvrakikos Gulf. Agios Andreas Castle was designated a monument worthy of preservation by ministerial decision in October 1980. Chronologically, these examples span from the early 18th century to the 1752 clock tower and the early 19th-century fortress, and finally to Agios Andreas Castle’s designation as a monument worthy of preservation in 1980. Here, 1980 refers to the designation, not the year the castle was built.
Amvrakikos Gulf shrimp and the famous bottarga from the same gulf are also part of Preveza’s regional character. Another way to explore the wider destination is Preveza’s second coastal cycling route: it is about 10 kilometres long, has a low difficulty level, and connects the city beach, Kiani Akti, Pantokratoras, the fishing harbour, Alonaki and the settlement of Drosia. Check current road conditions before setting out. The coastal cycling route offers a different focus from Nikopolis: it connects several named points, while the main route and six secondary routes at Nikopolis lead through nine monumental areas.
