Three distinct themes offer ways to explore Lentföhrden: its history of moors and forests, its seasonal outdoor pool and local agriculture. The outdoor pool provides the clearest timeframe for a visit; moorland and farm life offer different perspectives on the landscape and everyday life. You can decide which themes to focus on based on the season and your interests.

Moorland and trails

Historically, Lentföhrden was shaped by extensive moorland and forests. This landscape once provided habitat for black grouse. Some areas of moorland remain; restoration measures aim to return them to their original state. The character of the landscape can therefore be explored through both its history and its surviving moorland.

The Grootmoor between Weddelbrook, Lentföhrden and Heidmoor features typical raised bog landscape. You can experience nature there on agricultural tracks. Trail conditions and access may change; check the latest information before your visit.

The outdoor pool in summer

Lentföhrden’s outdoor pool opened in 1969 and operates every year from 1 June to 31 August. Admission is free. If you would like to plan a visit to the pool, schedule your trip during this season and check the latest information about opening times in advance.

Agriculture and produce

Hof Möller is a mixed Bioland-certified farm covering around 100 hectares. The farm includes permanent grassland, arable land and a vegetable plot. This mix offers a concrete insight into the agricultural side of Lentföhrden without taking attention away from its moorland and forests.

The farm’s milk is marketed under the 4 Jahreszeiten Milch brand. Its processed products include pasteurised, non-homogenised milk, quark, set natural yoghurt and sour cream butter. Product availability may change, so check the latest information in advance. For trip planning, farm products differ from the outdoor pool: its annual operating period is fixed, while product availability may change.

Getting here and finding your way around the region
