The Probsteier Koppeltor at the roundabout at the entrance to town draws on Brodersdorf’s traditional name, “Gateway to Probstei”: it is a reconstruction based on a historical model. Straw figures made for the Probstei Harvest Days are displayed at the same roundabout. This striking local motif offers a first point of orientation in the town.

Nature-themed walks
The tree experience trail features 60 different tree species. Information boards explain the tree species, the structure of flowers, and how wood and seeds are used. Other boards cover beekeeping and insect pollination in agriculture. The Brodersdorf orchard contains several old fruit varieties and a wildflower meadow that is attractive to pollinators. Bee hives stand alongside the orchard and circular trail; on sunny days, you may be able to observe bee activity. You can also buy honey in Brodersdorf as a souvenir, although local availability may vary.
An approximately four-kilometre circular trail passes through Brodersdorf’s fields and into the “Gruppen” woodland near the Hagener Au. This walk is an alternative to the themed tree experience trail: one route covers an approximate distance and leads through fields into the woodland, while the other focuses on tree species and information about nature and agriculture.
