Tirpersdorf brings together local history, circular walks and a seasonal outdoor pool, offering different highlights for a stay. The local history room provides insights into various types of work in the region. Information boards also cover the history of the town and its church, as well as the habitats of native birds. On the trails, you can compare two stated route lengths and their described sections.

Working and Living in the Local History Room

The permanent exhibition at the Tirpersdorf local history room covers the textile industry, wolframite mining, and regional agriculture and forestry. It presents commercial and mining topics alongside the use of land and forests. The exhibition may evolve over time; these topics are intended as permanent areas of focus. A historically furnished Hutzenstube adds a particular way of life to the range of topics. It illustrates the working and living conditions of Vogtland lace-makers around the turn of the century. While the permanent exhibition covers several areas, the Hutzenstube focuses on the work and life associated with lace-making.

Two Circular Walks Starting at the Local History Room

Both circular walks start at the Tirpersdorf local history room. The 12.7-kilometre loop passes through Brotenfeld, Korna, Werda and Kottengrün. The second is 10.6 kilometres long, follows the cycle path from Lottengrün towards Bergen and returns via Kottengrün. The stated lengths differ by 2.1 kilometres; the described sections also vary. The longer loop passes through the four named places, while the shorter one highlights the cycle-path section from Lottengrün towards Bergen. When choosing, you can consider the route length and course together. Route details may change over time.

The circular trails have been extended to all parts of the municipality and equipped with boards about local history and trail overviews. Hiking leaflets are available to take from all information boards; availability may change. Near the church and park in Tirpersdorf, information boards cover Tirpersdorf and its church, and there is a sheltered seating area. The viewpoint at Feldrain in Tirpersdorf has an information board about the habitat of native birds and a covered shelter. Details of these visitor facilities may change.

Seasonal Outdoor Pool

The Tirpersdorf outdoor pool combines swimming with relaxation in sunny and shaded areas. Large parasols and a playground for small children add to the facilities. As a seasonal amenity, the outdoor pool is an option for the right time of year. Visitor rules may change; check them before your visit.

More to Explore in the Vogtland

The wider Vogtland destination offers additional cultural and hiking themes of its own. Musical instruments have been made in the Upper Vogtland for more than 350 years; the Markneukirchen Musical Instrument Museum displays the world’s largest playable violin. At 225 kilometres long, the Vogtland Panorama Trail offers a different scale from the two circular walks in Tirpersdorf. In this way, local circular trails differ from a long regional route, just as local history differs from musical instrument making.
