Water activities, hiking trails and seasonal winter sports give a trip to Wegscheid different focuses. It is also helpful to distinguish this trail from the Panorama Trail: the Bärnloch Trail is a hiking trail at Bärnloch, while Panorama Trail No. 3 connects with several other trails.

Near Friedrichsberg, the Josl-Platte viewpoint is a rest stop and starting point for the ascent. Friedrichsberg is 930 metres high and is the highest elevation in the market municipality of Wegscheid and Passau district. The observation tower on Friedrichsberg is considered a tourist highlight in the market municipality. Panorama Trail No. 3 connects with the Sperlbrunn Trail No. 9, the Blochleiten Trail No. 7, the Sepp-Kronawitter Memorial Trail No. 17, as well as hiking trails to Breitenberg and the neighbouring Mühlviertel in Upper Austria.
