A river confluence, two 15th-century altar wings and a water-powered iron hammer give Hasloch clear points of interest for a stay. The town lies in the narrow Main Valley on the Bavarian side of the Main. Cultural history, cycling and hiking offer different ways to explore. When searching for a hotel, you can first decide whether to focus on local history, a cycling trip along the Main or hiking days in the Spessart.

Church Art Spanning Several Eras

The first place of worship in Hasloch was a chapel, whose foundation stone was laid in 1307. The Protestant Lutheran parish church in Hasloch has furnishings dating from the second half of the 19th century. Two 15th-century altar wings were saved from the former church. On the front, they depict the Annunciation of Christ’s birth to Mary; on the back are Saint Margaret and Saint Barbara. Hasloch’s church history thus brings together an early start to construction, late medieval panels and more recent church furnishings.

Water Power and the Iron Hammer

The water-powered iron hammer on the Haselbach is located in Hasloch and is the last iron hammer still in operation in the Spessart. It is the root of the globally active supplier and high-tech group Kurtz Ersa. The Kurtz Ersa HAMMERMUSEUM is part of the company’s Historic Center; it opened on July 1, 2014. At a play station in the HAMMERMUSEUM, visitors can compare their strength with that of the iron hammer. This makes a hands-on activity a highlight alongside the history of industry.

Explore by Bike or on Foot

The Main Cycle Route begins in Kulmbach, ends in Mainz and passes directly by Hasloch. Hasloch and its district of Hasselberg offer starting points for hikes through the Spessart. When planning your day, you can choose between a long-distance cycle route and hikes with locally named starting points. Radi's Biergarten in Hasloch invites you to stop for a break and refreshments. If you plan to stop there, check the latest visitor information beforehand.

Plan Your Journey and Stay
