Fürstenfeldbruck combines a former monastery site with a Baroque church, water-based activities on the Amper and protected landscapes. When looking for a hotel or other accommodation, it is worth first choosing the focus of your stay: culture and architecture, swimming and sauna, or trails into the countryside. Each place adds its own emphasis to your travel plans.

Art, History and Monastery

Cistercians founded Fürstenfeld Monastery in 1263 on the “Prince’s Field”. The former monastery site, with its magnificent Baroque monastery church at its centre, is considered an attraction of the town of Fürstenfeldbruck. Today, the extensively restored site is a centre for art and culture. It includes the Veranstaltungsforum Fürstenfeld, the municipal museum, the Neue Bühne Bruck, and the Kulturwerkstatt Haus 10 and Kunsthaus galleries. The Fürstenfeldbruck Museum is located in the old brewery on the monastery site.

There is a specific access restriction for visiting the church: as a rule, the monastery church is open during the day only as far as the grille; the interior can be viewed clearly from the vestibule. It can also be opened for tour groups outside regular hours, and guided tours can be booked. Check the current booking contact before your trip.

AmperOase: Swimming and Sauna

AmperOase is located in a park with mature trees on the Amper, near the centre of Fürstenfeldbruck. The indoor pool has two pools, a water play garden, a whirlpool, a textile steam bath and a 75-metre water slide. The sauna village comprises a Finnish sauna, a light and bio sauna, a steam bath, an earth sauna and a loft sauna, a heated relaxation floor and a rest house. This means you can choose between swimming facilities and a variety of sauna and relaxation spaces. Check the current facilities before your visit.

AmperOase also has an outdoor ice rink for recreational skating. Check current seasonal operations when planning your visit. The activities available at AmperOase therefore vary according to what you want to do and the time of year.

Enjoy the Outdoors and Experience Nature

The Fürstenfeldbruck climbing park is located on a peninsula in the Amper and offers five courses at different heights. Check current operating conditions in advance. A dense network of hiking and cycling trails leads from the town of Fürstenfeldbruck into the surrounding Bruck countryside, offering another way to include physical activity in your stay.

The largely unspoilt Emmeringer Hölzl nature and landscape conservation area lies immediately east of the centre of Fürstenfeldbruck. The Amperaue nature reserve, between Fürstenfeldbruck and Schöngeising, is also nearby. It provides a habitat for rare or endangered animals and plants. The Hölzl and the Amperaue are thus two distinct nature destinations for visitors who want to explore the landscape as well as the monastery site.

Hiking and Cycling Options in Fürstenfeldbruck District

The district of Fürstenfeldbruck offers a variety of hiking and cycling tours. A signposted circular trail through the Haspelmoor begins at Haspelmoor railway station. If you include these regional options in your stay, check local trail conditions before setting out.
