In Münsing, the five routes of the Nordic Walking Park provide a practical basis for planning your tours. They differ in length, elevation gain, difficulty and stated duration; all start at the sports facilities in Münsing. The selection ranges from the easy Lake Route at 8.1 kilometers to the challenging Ambach Route at 16 kilometers. This lets you first compare which route length and time frame suit your plans.

Five routes with different levels of difficulty

  • Route 19 – Vital Fountain Route of the Nordic Walking Park: moderate, 8 kilometers, 112 meters of elevation gain and 1 hour 50 minutes.
  • Route 20 – Scenic View or Experience Route of the Nordic Walking Park: moderate, 12.6 kilometers, 178 meters of elevation gain and 3 hours.
  • Route 21 – Castle and Church Route of the Nordic Walking Park: moderate, 13.4 kilometers, 191 meters of elevation gain and 3 hours 10 minutes.
  • Route 22 – Ambach Route of the Nordic Walking Park: challenging, 16 kilometers, 231 meters of elevation gain and 4 hours 32 minutes.
  • Route 23 – Lake Route of the Nordic Walking Park: easy, 8.1 kilometers, 59 meters of elevation gain and 1 hour 45 minutes.

If you are comparing two shorter routes, you can compare the Lake Route and the Vital Fountain Route: at 8.1 instead of 8 kilometers, the Lake Route is 100 meters longer, but has 59 instead of 112 meters of elevation gain. The stated durations of 1 hour 45 minutes and 1 hour 50 minutes differ by just five minutes. At the same time, the Lake Route is rated easy, while the Vital Fountain Route is rated moderate. Among the longer options, Routes 20 and 21 are both moderate; their stated figures differ by 0.8 kilometers and ten minutes. Route 22 is a distinct longer option, rated challenging, at 16 kilometers and with a duration of 4 hours 32 minutes.

Water Sports and Getting Your Bearings

The WasserSportCenter Starnberger See in Münsing offers catamaran sailing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. This provides an alternative activity to the Nordic walking routes described above. If you plan to take courses or rent equipment, check availability before your trip.

For getting your bearings, Münsing’s local leisure map includes maps of the individual hamlets in the municipality, points of interest, and some hiking and cycling routes. The map therefore brings together several useful perspectives: it shows maps of the hamlets and also provides an overview of selected points of interest and routes. This is a separate way to prepare, alongside comparing the five Nordic walking routes described in detail.

In the wider destination of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

As a tourism brand, Tölzer Land represents all 21 towns and municipalities in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. Offerings at this level complement a focus on Münsing with more options across the wider destination. The Heilklimapark Tölzer Land comprises 37 routes on a network of more than 340 kilometers between Bad Heilbrunn, Bad Tölz, Kochel am See, Wackersberg and Lenggries. Since the number of routes may change, check it again when making your current plans. The Tölzer Land hiking program also includes six signposted Nordic walking routes ranging from 2 to 8.6 kilometers. This regional selection covers a different scope from the five routes in Münsing described individually.

A cultural highlight in the wider destination of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen is the Erinnerungsort BADEHAUS in Waldram, a district of Wolfratshausen. It focuses on regional contemporary history. An audio guide leads visitors through the permanent exhibition or on a historical tour of the area. The exhibition and tour thus offer two different ways to engage with regional history.
