Leutershausen offers a range of ways to plan a stay: recurring festivals, cycling routes with varying profiles, guided tours of the medieval town and a river swimming area. Every year on December 24, the traditional “Christkindlesrunterläuten” takes place from the Upper Tower. The Leutershausen Old Town Festival also has a set date each year: it takes place on the last weekend in July and features food and live music. The program ranges from blues, rock, pop, oldies, rock ’n’ roll and country to brass band music. Kirchweih is traditionally celebrated in Leutershausen and the villages of Brunst, Frommetsfelden, Jochsberg, Neunkirchen and Wiedersbach. Cycling tours for different abilities
The short cycling loop “Leutershausen – Colmberg – the Short One” is suitable for riding with children. It runs mainly along cycle paths and farm tracks, with only short sections on roads. The “Wieseth and Rezat” tour offers something different: it is 100 kilometers long and recommended for e-bike riders and ambitious cyclists. The two routes therefore differ in both distance and stated target group.
The Ansbach Carp Cycling Route passes through the pond chains of Leutershausen, crosses the watershed toward Ansbach and follows the Rezat to just before Windsbach. Its route offers another way to guide your choice of cycling route. Check current signage and path and road conditions before setting out.
Town history and puzzles for children
On guided town tours, guides lead visitors through medieval Leutershausen and share information about the town’s history, along with related anecdotes. If you are planning a tour, check the specific dates and booking conditions in advance.
A town rally with puzzles is available for children aged eight and over at the town hall, the museum or the cultural center. The AltmĂĽhl river swimming area in Leutershausen is one of the last river baths in Bavaria and has a Kneipp facility.
