Zaberfeld combines a Renaissance castle in the town center with experiences by the stream and views across the landscape. The castle of the Lords of Sternenfels was completed in 1618. The Water World focuses on the stream habitat; Ehmetsklinge lies between forests, open meadows and vineyards. The local attractions thus range from architectural history to nature and water experiences.

Castle and Architectural History in the Town Center

The Renaissance castle of the Lords of Sternenfels stands in the town center. St. Mauritius Church is also in the town center, adding further periods of architecture and art to this historic focal point.

The tower of St. Mauritius Church dates back to the 13th century, and its Late Gothic choir dates from 1505. The Gothic sacrament house in the church was created in 1476 by Zaberfeld stonemason Hans Spies. Together with the castle, completed in 1618, this creates a timeline from the medieval church tower through the sacrament house and choir to the Renaissance building. The local architectural history is therefore not limited to a single era.

Water World, Adventure Trail and Kneipp Facility

The Water World in Zaberfeld gives children and adults the chance to experience the stream habitat with all their senses. An adventure trail runs along the Riesenbach; just beyond the trail, a water playground invites visitors to linger. The experience of the stream habitat and a place to play are thus available side by side.

Above the Water World, there is a Kneipp facility open from May to October, with a Kneipp wading pool and an arm bath. If you plan to visit this seasonal attraction, check local information before setting out.

Ehmetsklinge in Every Season

Ehmetsklinge lies between forests, open meadows and vineyards, offering views in every season. Its extensive shoreline is especially popular with visitors seeking relaxation in summer. Each season therefore has its own character: views are available year-round, while use of the shoreline is particularly popular in summer. If you plan to swim there, check local information about access and water conditions beforehand.

Dirt Park, Views and Nature Experiences

The dirt park in Zaberfeld has a 3.5-meter-high starting ramp and a total of 15 dirt mounds of varying heights that can be ridden over by bicycle. It offers a cycling facility alongside other possible attractions, such as the landscape and viewpoints.

Spitzenberg is known as Zaberfeld’s local mountain; from the top, visitors can enjoy views of the municipality. The Wildcat World Stromberg at the Nature Park Center is an outdoor environmental education and adventure facility—not an enclosure with live wildcats. Spitzenberg is therefore a viewpoint, while the Wildcat World focuses on environmental education and play.
