Roisey lies on the southern slope of the Massif du Pilat, overlooking the nearby RhĂ´ne Valley. For planning your trip, you can choose from nature activities, hikes with varying durations and distances, and vineyard tours available on request. This allows you to tailor your stay to whether you want to focus on walks, specific hiking destinations, or a longer cultural and historical route.
Nature and landscape
The Roisey Arboretum is a year-round place to discover nature, go for a walk, and relax. Nature discovery, walking, and relaxation all come together there; this is a different way to experience the landscape than taking a hike with a set distance. If you do not want to plan your trip solely around kilometres, you will find a focus of its own here.
The Trois Dents site is also one of the area’s landscape highlights. As part of the Natura 2000 programme, the municipalities of Roisey and Véranne pursued measures there to prevent scrub encroachment. The landscape is therefore not only a setting for walks and hikes, but also the focus of measures jointly advanced by both municipalities.
Choose hikes by duration and destination
The “Pont Jacquet - Roisey n° 3” circular hike is very easy, 6.8 kilometres long, and takes two hours. It starts and ends in the village of Roisey, near the café-restaurant. If starting and finishing in the village is important to you, these details provide a specific reference point for planning your day.
The “Sagnemorte - Roisey n° 1” hike is rated easy, takes two and a half hours, and covers 7.6 kilometres. It leads to the Croix du Trèves viewpoint and the hamlet of Sagnemorte. Compared with the shorter circular hike, it is 800 metres longer and takes half an hour more; the destinations mentioned also differ. You can therefore consider both the time required and your preferred hiking destination when making your choice. Check trail conditions before setting out.
A longer cultural and historical route
At 18 kilometres, “Les Chemins de l’Eau” sets a different benchmark. This cultural and historical water route passes through the landscapes of Véranne and Roisey and includes heritage sites connected with water. Compared with the two shorter hikes, it is a longer option; its theme combines travelling through the landscape with its water heritage. If you want to choose a hike for its cultural focus, this offers an alternative to the route to Croix du Trèves or the hamlet of Sagnemorte.
Vineyards and practical planning
Les Saveurs du Terroir in Roisey offers paid vineyard tours on request. This is a separate part of your plans alongside the hikes: consider both the need to request a tour and the cost if you would like to include one in your stay.
TIL bus route 130 on the Pélussin–Roussillon connection serves the Roisey-Brossin stop. If you plan to use the route for your journey, check the timetable for your travel date.
