Cordelle offers several reasons to take a break: Loire riverbanks, cultural heritage, water activities and trails that introduce you to nature each offer a different focus. You can plan your days around water sports, cultural walks, mountain biking or a guided visit to Ferme du Bessy. When planning, it helps to ask yourself which theme matters most to you.

Loire Riverbanks and Nature Knowledge

The Tour du Verdier consists of 13th-century ruins on a promontory above the right bank of the Loire. The educational trail around the Presqu'île de Mars follows the Loire riverbank; information boards share knowledge about the environment and nature. The two attractions have different focuses: the Tour is a historical landmark by the river, while the trail introduces environmental and nature topics. The periods when the trail is open to the public may vary. If you plan to make it a set part of your itinerary, check current visiting hours in advance.

Cultural History on Walks

At the Croix du Cimetière, the stone part dates from 1518; the iron cross dates from the 18th century. The cross can therefore be viewed as a landmark with two distinct historical layers. You can also discover Cordelle’s 24 calvaries on walks along local trails; they are numbered, identified and located. For culture-focused walks, you can choose between a single cross with datable components and a group of crosses to discover along the way. A ritual procession takes place every year on 15 August, from the church to La Madone in La Perrière. If you would like to include this date in your travel plans, check the date and itinerary in advance.

Water Sports and Mountain Biking

The Base Nautique de la Loire offers the public rowing, canoeing and kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and pedal boating. Seasonal availability may vary; check for your travel dates if one of these activities is a deciding factor. Route N°3 – Point de vue passes through the Gorges de la Loire, offers views of the river and goes through woodland sections used for downhill mountain biking. Route N°4 – Goutte Fronde is suitable for experienced mountain bikers. The routes therefore appeal for different reasons: N°3 is described mainly in terms of its scenery and trail sections, while N°4 is specifically described as suitable for experienced riders.

Agriculture and Honey Products

Ferme du Bessy offers guided visits where visitors can feed and pet animals, milk a cow and bottle-feed calves. These activities give the guided visit a specific agricultural focus. The farm also processes milk into butter and fromage blanc. Le Rucher Antoline offers honey spreads, honey candies and honey mustard. The culinary highlights differ: milk processing is mentioned at the farm, while Le Rucher offers a range of honey products. Agricultural visits and food experiences therefore complement the options for trails, cultural heritage and activities on the water.
