There are several clear reasons to choose a stay in Gresse-En-Vercors: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing or skating, wildlife watching and an annual festival. Gresse-En-Vercors lies entirely within the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors; nearly half of its area is also within the Réserve Naturelle Nationale des Hauts-Plateaux du Vercors. Access rules in the nature reserve may change.

Alpine skiing and Nordic trails

The alpine ski area has 27 ski runs. Its facilities include nine drag lifts, one chairlift and one conveyor belt. The Nordic ski area offers 50 kilometres of marked trails for cross-country skiing or skating. The alpine option takes you onto ski runs, while the Nordic offering follows marked trails: your first consideration should therefore be which activity you plan to do. Trail grooming and access vary seasonally; alpine operations and slope availability also depend on the season. Lift infrastructure may change over time. Check current operating conditions before planning your trip around them.

Landscape and hiking route

Alpine ibex are easy to spot on the rocky ridges above Gresse-En-Vercors; however, sightings are not guaranteed and depend on the season and conditions. The “Les sources de la Gresse et le Pas de la Ville” route starts at the foot of the alpine ski slopes. If you plan to follow this route, check the current arrangements at the starting point, as they may change.

Odyssée Verte: a walkway circuit

The Odyssée Verte is an elevated circuit on walkways suspended between trees, with information panels, games and interactive features. The suspended route reaches up to ten metres above the ground and can be used without a climbing harness. The walkways are not accessible to pushchairs or wheelchairs. Check seasonal operating conditions and current accessibility information before your visit.

Fête de l’Alpage and trip planning

The Fête de l’Alpage traditionally takes place every year on the weekend after 15 August. The date and programme vary each year. The programme includes demonstrations, shepherds with their flocks and sheepdogs, cow fights, activities and exhibitions; a producers’ market is also part of the festival. Participation and the market’s offerings may vary from one edition to the next. If you would like to plan your stay around the Fête, check the date and announced programme for the relevant year. For this event, the festival calendar is key; for a ski holiday, seasonal operations and slope availability matter.
