Those wishing to get to know Corenc through its cultural heritage will find several distinct thematic approaches. The Heritage Trail draws attention to notable places and events in the municipality. The Église Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul and Château de Bouquéron are two emblematic cultural sites in the local heritage. At Fort du Saint-Eynard, the focus is on a permanent exhibition about garrison life and views over the Grésivaudan Valley; the Musée André Moch presents the life and work of Lieutenant André Moch. This allows you to explore Corenc’s culture through local history, architecture, garrison life and a biographical account.

Discover Corenc’s cultural heritage outdoors

The Heritage Trail comprises 17 outdoor heritage information panels spread throughout the municipality. They illustrate notable places and events in Corenc. There is no set route to follow. For planning your day, this means you do not have to treat the panels as a sequence with a fixed start and finish; instead, the collection offers individual insights into different aspects of the place. While the 17 panels are spread throughout the municipality, the permanent exhibition at the fort focuses on garrison life.

As a specific landmark, one panel is located to the left of the entrance to the Église Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul in the Corenc Village district. The availability of individual panels may change, so it is sensible to allow some flexibility when planning.

Church, château and valley views

Both the Église Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul and Château de Bouquéron offer impressive views over the valley. At the château, the partial protected designation covers the façades and roofs, as well as the dining room, small drawing room and large drawing room inside. It was partially listed as a historic monument by decree dated 3 May 1988. Thus, alongside the valley views, the château also offers specific architectural features in the form of explicitly designated protected exterior and interior areas.

Fort and museum: two historical focuses

Fort du Saint-Eynard is located within the territory of the municipalities of Corenc and Le Sappey-en-Chartreuse. Its permanent exhibition is dedicated to garrison life. The fort also offers exceptional views over the Grésivaudan Valley. Visitor arrangements may change, so check access details before your visit.

The Musée André Moch opened in May 2025 and presents the life and work of Lieutenant André Moch. It therefore has a different focus from the exhibition at the fort: here, the focus is on one person, while there it is on the life of a garrison. This distinction can help you choose a theme if you are particularly interested in a biographical perspective or in garrison life in Corenc.
