When considering Habère-Poche as a destination, you can distinguish between activities by season and type of route. The options range from alpine ski slopes and cross-country trails with specified lengths to downhill tracks and hiking trails through varied landscapes. The details make it easier to decide: in winter, snow conditions matter for Nordic activities, while weather or season affects several cycling and hiking routes.
Skiing, cross-country skiing and winter trails
The access point for the Les Habères ski slopes is in the centre of Habère-Poche. The ski area is connected to the Bellevaux-Hirmentaz ski resort. For cross-country skiing, the Domaine nordique des Moises offers three trails: the green “Les Planeurs” is 3 km long, the blue “le Bois de Bouleau” is 5 km, and the red “les Moises” is 8 km. The middle-length trail is two kilometres longer than the shortest and three kilometres shorter than the longest; the difference between the two extremes is five kilometres. This makes it possible to compare the three options by colour, name and length.
The Domaine nordique des Moises is a seasonal winter facility; its operation depends on snow conditions. In addition to the cross-country trails, there are two signposted walking paths. The Nordic area therefore offers a choice of both cross-country trails and marked walking paths.
Cycling in the bike park
Three downhill trails are designated in the Habères Bike Park: a blue one measuring 1.8 km, a red one measuring 1.4 km, and a green one measuring 1.8 km. The blue and green trails have the same stated length; the red one is 0.4 km shorter. The trail configuration may change. The bike park also has a mountain biking route for families, access to which depends on the weather. Alongside the three downhill trails, visitors can therefore choose a separately described mountain biking route, whose weather-dependent access should also be taken into account when planning.
Hiking through forests and pastures
The “Les Granges Vigny” hiking route descends from the top of the Darandet chairlift through forest and alpine pastures; access depends on the weather. “Le chemin du Pely” passes through mixed woodland, hamlets and pastures along the ski slopes, and access is seasonal and weather-dependent. The routes thus differ in their course: “Les Granges Vigny” focuses on the descent from the top of the lift, while the Pely route passes through several types of landscape along the ski slopes. Weather affects both paths; the Pely route is also subject to seasonal access restrictions.
Church and festival
Cultural landmarks also have specific dates. The church of Habère-Poche was built in 1840 in the Neoclassical style. The Rock’n Poche festival was founded in 1992. The 2026 edition is a two-day festival with 16 concerts on two stages; the programme may change. The church’s construction date and the format of a particular festival edition thus offer different perspectives on Habère-Poche over time.
