In Mezilhac, green, expansive meadows meet the steep slopes and deep valleys of the Boutières. A viewpoint, hikes, a cycling loop and seasonal blueberry offerings give a stay different focuses. The commune is part of the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Natural Park.

Scenery and panoramic views

The Table d’orientation de Mézilhac is on the Ardèche Plateau. From there, views stretch to the Sucs of Gerbier, Mézenc and Montivernoux, and as far as the Alps. In 2026, the viewpoint is open daily from January 1 to December 31, with free access. Check these details again before your visit.

If you would like to take in the landscape from somewhere other than the viewpoint, the “Entre Montagne et Boutières” hike offers another perspective. It starts in Mezilhac at the INFO-RANDO sign beside the washhouse on the main road. Along the route from Saint-Brint, it passes meadows before descending in switchbacks beneath the trees. Meadows and a wooded descent characterize the described route.

Hikes and cycling loop

At Le Coudoulet, you can rent donkeys for half-day, full-day or multi-day hikes. You can combine a hike with a visit to the farm. Availability may vary seasonally; check in advance if you are planning this combination.

Another way to take in the surroundings is the “Boucle cyclo des quatre cols” cycling loop. It starts in Mezilhac and follows quiet country roads with scenic viewpoints. The route thus offers a different way to experience the landscape than a hike or a stop at the Table d’orientation.

Blueberries and seasonal offerings

The Marché de la Myrtille Sauvage d’Ardèche is a food festival in Mezilhac. An announcement for 2026 gives the first Saturday in August as the date; check the exact date before your trip. The 2026 market program lists stalls run by local producers and craftspeople from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On offer are wild blueberries, as well as jams, jellies, juices, drinks, pastries, terrines, dairy products, ice cream and sorbets. Details may vary from one edition to another.

There is also a seasonal blueberry offering outside the market: blueberry producer Bernadette Teyssier sells blueberries directly to retail customers in any quantity at Prélamothe in Mezilhac. Sales are open daily in August and September. Check availability before travelling.

Practical information

A charging station for electric vehicles and electric bicycles is available in the town center at Place de l’Église. As its operating status may change, check before using it.

The offerings have different highlights: the Table d’orientation focuses on the panorama, the hike passes meadows and descends beneath the trees, and at Le Coudoulet there are several duration options to choose from. To plan your trip, you can first decide which of these appeals to you; it is best to coordinate seasonal offerings with your travel dates.
