Missillac offers several different ways to enjoy a stay: walks at Étang de Perno, fishing in peaceful surroundings, a weekly market on Wednesday mornings and historic buildings. Baludik adds a digital discovery trail, offering another way to explore Missillac by smartphone. You can tailor your visit to your interests—time by the water, architectural and local history, or a specific market day.

Water and digital discovery

Walks by the water at Étang de Perno invite you to enjoy the surroundings; fishing is also possible in a peaceful setting. These two activities offer different experiences: walking provides exercise by the water, while fishing is a more focused activity. Fishing regulations may change, so check the rules in force before your visit.

The Baludik digital discovery trail is accessible by smartphone and offers another way to explore Missillac. Unlike a walk by the water, this experience focuses on a digital format. App availability may change, so check whether it is available to you before making plans.

Church and château history

The Église Saint-Pierre & Saint-Paul is a Neo-Gothic church with a bell tower in the Kreisker style. Neo-Gothic architecture reinterprets medieval Gothic motifs in a later architectural language. The tower’s style and the church’s Neo-Gothic design should be distinguished from its oldest stained-glass windows: these date from 1600 and are listed as historic monuments.

The Château de La Bretesche is notable for its history as a former residence: until the French Revolution of 1789, the château was the residence of the Barons of La Roche-Bernard. The château is privately owned. If you are considering it as a fixed part of your itinerary, check in advance whether a visit is possible and under what conditions.

Chapels with different historical connections

The chapels offer a broader perspective on architectural history, but their dates refer to different events. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-De-L'Immaculée dates from 1861; it was built on the initiative of Abbé François Landeau and funded by parishioners. For the Chapelle Sainte-Luce in Ker-Marie, the year 1677 marks a restoration and enlargement. The Chapelle Saint-Laurent in La Briandais was blessed on August 27, 1872. Their origins, building work and blessing therefore represent distinct historical reference points that cannot be reduced to a single date or building phase.

Weekly market and planning

The Marché hebdomadaire takes place on Wednesday mornings under the market hall on Rue du Château. If you want to visit the market, you can plan your stay around this day of the week. Check the market details again before travelling. In this way, the market adds a specific scheduling point to the water and cultural experiences when planning your stay in Missillac.
