In Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit, the Maison du Parc and its grounds and farmstead, Notre-Dame Church, and a range of routes take centre stage. To find your way around, it helps to distinguish between the different options: walks on the grounds, the Le Bliquetuit hiking trail and the 62-kilometre Route des Fruits each have their own features.
Maison du Parc: walking grounds and visitor information
The Maison du Parc is a visitor information centre in Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit. Its five-hectare grounds are open for walks. They include an interpretive trail with a conservation garden, a pond and traditional buildings. The Maison du Parc is also on the La Seine à Vélo cycle route. Highland cattle are used on the grounds for the ecological management of wetlands; conditions on site may change.
For cycle tourists and hikers passing through, the Maison du Parc offers an eco-bivouac area with two wooden tent platforms. It also offers adult, children's and electric bicycles. If you are planning to visit the exhibition, use the bivouac area or hire bicycles, check the current visitor conditions or bicycle availability in advance.
Farmstead and the history of apples
Since 1991, the Maison du Parc has been housed in a former farm called « ferme de la Côte ». The farm includes a bread oven, barns, a shed, a cider press, a dovecote, the farmhouse and other traditional agricultural buildings. Together, these different types of building give an impression of the former farmstead.
At the Maison du Parc, the Ethnothèque presents the permanent exhibition « La pomme normande, quelle histoire! ». The apple theme adds another perspective on regional culture to the story of the farmstead. The ethnographic collection of the Parc naturel régional des Boucles de la Seine Normande comprises more than 12,000 objects and has held the designation « Musée de France » since 2002.
Hiking trails and the Route des Fruits
The Route des Fruits passes through fruit farms and commercial orchards. It connects the Maison du Parc in Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit with Duclair, is 62 kilometres long and can be travelled by car, bicycle or on foot. Its length, connecting points and three possible ways of travelling set it apart from a walk on the grounds of the Maison du Parc.
Le Bliquetuit is a hiking trail in Notre-Dame-De-Bliquetuit that starts at the Maison du Parc. Part of the trail runs along the banks of the Seine. The Route des Chaumières also starts in the commune. Distinguishing between the trails lets you choose between a hiking route starting at the Maison du Parc and other routes with their own starting points.
Notre-Dame Church and early building history
Notre-Dame Church was classified as a historic monument by decree on 3 February 1923. Visible remnants of its earliest building phase remain at the church. These two aspects make it a distinct cultural highlight alongside the farmstead and the apple exhibition: here, the focus is on its monument classification and the visible traces of its early building history.
