Franqueville-Saint-Pierre offers a range of possibilities for a stay: a natural area with clearly distinct habitats, a municipal guide to rural paths, sports facilities and an art-historical connection. When planning your stay, you can treat nature, activity and culture as separate themes rather than combining the offerings into a fixed route.
Chalk slopes and rural paths
The Le Coteau de Saint-Adrien ZNIEFF natural area is located in Franqueville-Saint-Pierre. Its habitats include wooded and open slopes, as well as woodland on the plateau. The slopes feature chalk cliffs, partly vegetated scree slopes and dry orchid grassland. The mix of open and wooded areas, slope formations and chalk features gives the nature theme a distinctive character. If you are interested in landscapes and diverse habitats, the Coteau is a destination in its own right during your stay.
The municipal guide “Balades autour de Franqueville” is designed to help visitors discover the commune via rural paths. This offers a different approach from exploring the habitats of the Coteau: here, the paths themselves are central to discovering the area. When planning your stay, you can therefore distinguish between an interest in the slopes and habitats from a nature perspective, and exploring the commune via rural paths.
Sports and leisure facilities
The City-Stade is free to use and open to children, teenagers, adults, seniors and people with reduced mobility; it is also accessible in all weather. Goals for football, handball and basketball, together with a running track, bring several types of activity together in one place. If you are deciding between ball sports and running when choosing a sports facility, these amenities offer specific points of comparison.
The intercommunal Parc de loisirs du Mesnil-Franquevillais comprises an 8-hectare wooded leisure park with children's play areas, three covered tennis courts and a skatepark. The facility is operated by SIVOM Franqueville-Saint-Pierre–Le Mesnil-Esnard. The leisure offerings range from play areas to tennis and skateboarding; the park's wooded character and size give it a different focus from the facilities at the City-Stade.
For comparison when planning your stay: the City-Stade focuses on goals for several ball sports and a running track. The Parc de loisirs, by contrast, offers play areas, tennis courts and a skatepark. If you know what kind of activity you are looking for, you can distinguish between the two facilities accordingly instead of simply grouping them together as general sports options.
An art-historical connection
The listed building, a former chapel of the Château Saint-Pierre, contains a triptych dating from 1602. The work was restored and reinstalled in 1998. Its former use as a chapel gives the building historical context, while the triptych provides a specific connection to art. Its restoration and reinstallation add a later chapter in the object's history to the date of its creation. This adds a clearly defined cultural and historical theme to the nature and leisure offerings.
Cycling in the plans
A project description dated 3 June 2024 envisages cycling infrastructure in Franqueville-Saint-Pierre as part of Route No. 8 of the Réseau Express Vélo. The route is intended to connect Bonsecours and Saint-Léger-du-Bourg-Denis with La-Neuville-Chant-d'Oisel. For a section in Franqueville-Saint-Pierre, a 750-metre bidirectional cycle lane was planned between the RD95 and the RD7. If you wish to include this cycling infrastructure in a specific journey, check its current implementation status in advance.
