More than 160 sculptures are spread across Barentin’s gardens, squares, intersections and the grounds around public buildings. The sculptures of the “Musée dans la rue” stand outdoors as part of Barentin’s townscape.

Art in the Townscape and in Exhibitions

A focused presentation of works can be found at the permanent Salle d'exposition Camille Claudel, which displays 57 works, including busts, statues and paintings. Auguste Rodin’s “L'homme qui marche” is also part of the exhibition. The forms of art in Barentin therefore differ clearly: sculptures in various locations are complemented by a permanent exhibition of named works.

The Musée Numérique presents art history through two digital facilities. The Micro-Folie combines a large screen with synchronised tablets, providing access to more than 2,000 masterpieces. At MUSE Découverte, a route with 18 stations combines reproductions of significant works with playful educational resources. Its themes range from prehistoric times to the present day.

Stage and Water

The Théâtre Montdory is a venue with 400 seats. From September to June, its programme includes theatre, dance, concerts, comedy, circus, artist residencies and film screenings for children and adults. This means that its offerings are tied to a specific season. If you would like to include a performance in your travel plans, check the dates for your travel period.

Les Bains de l’Austreberthe offers a different activity. As of August 2026, its aquatic area had four pools and a water slide. The leisure pool also features a gently flowing adventure river and an air-bubble bench.

Landscape on a Former Industrial Site

The 17-hectare Parc Auguste Badin was inaugurated in September 2025 and occupies the site of the former Badin industrial wasteland. More than 75 percent of the park is dedicated to natural areas, including meadows, wetlands, trees, landscaped paths and ecological corridors.

The site’s history is also part of the park: a historical exhibition covers the cotton mill, linen and jute production, the Badin family, and the workers. Natural areas and industrial history are thus presented as two clearly defined aspects of the same site.

Architecture and a Walking Route

The Chapelle Saint-Hélier preserves a choir termination dating from the late 12th or early 13th century; the chapel was rebuilt in the 16th century. It was once a pilgrimage site, with a ritual fire held on 16 July.

Barentin’s railway history includes the Viaduc de Chemin de Fer, built in 1846 by the English engineer Locke for the Rouen–Le Havre railway line. If you would rather plan a walk than visit a single landmark, the “Plateau de Caux et Vallées” is a 26-kilometre circular route starting in Barentin.
