Remilly-Sur-Lozon brings together a range of things to discover: a signposted walking trail, traditional crafts and cultural history. There are practical details to help you plan your trip, from a route’s walking time to the conditions for a group tour.

A walk with a clear time estimate

Au fil des marais is an easy nine-kilometre walking trail. The stated walking time is three hours, and the route is marked in yellow. Its length and duration give you a practical basis for fitting the walk into your day’s plans.

L'Oseraie is signposted from the D8. The car park for Au fil des marais is also located there. Before you arrive, check the route details, signposting and parking arrangements again.

Basket weaving and willow growing

Lehodey Vani-Bois represents 160 years of basket weaving carried out entirely by hand using woven plant fibres. The museum contains more than 250 woven works created over a period of more than a century. This offers two different perspectives: the long tradition of basket weaving and the variety of works that have been preserved.

The type of visit on offer is important when planning: an exhibition with a sales area is open Monday to Friday. Tours of the workshop and museum are available by prior reservation for groups of ten or more. If you are planning such a tour, check the visiting arrangements in advance.

L'Oseraie is also associated with local crafts. The site represents traditional heritage and shares expertise in willow growing, which flourished in the early 20th century and has continued to develop since then. Basket weaving and willow growing are therefore two specific topics for travellers interested in craft traditions.

A château, miniatures and a rose garden

The Château de Montfort is a Renaissance château listed in the supplementary register of historic monuments. It was historically owned by the Le Marquetel family. The château is also associated with Saint Evremont, an 18th-century writer. Its architecture, ownership history and literary connection offer different cultural and historical perspectives on the same place.

The Village des années 1930 features moving miniatures at a scale of 1:10. They depict traditional trades, agricultural work and village life at the beginning of the 20th century. The permanent collection has been housed in a restored barn since 2017. Here, everyday life and work are viewed not through individual full-size exhibits, but through miniatures depicting scenes and activities on a reduced scale.

The Roseraie David Austin offers a different kind of collection, with more than 400 English rose bushes in 60 varieties. Volunteers created the garden in 2020–2021. While the miniatures focus on trades and village life, this garden centres on the diversity of English rose varieties. Visitors interested in culture will thus find craft and historical topics as well as a horticultural focus in Remilly-Sur-Lozon.

When choosing what to include in your trip, you can focus on either of two distinct themes: a walking route with clearly stated figures, or crafts, architecture and everyday history. The route details help you estimate the time required; group tours require a reservation and a minimum group size.
