Trails through the vineyards
Campsas combines trails through the vineyards with several wine-related experiences. Two clearly distinct routes are the main options for walks: the Tour de vigne is a 6 km circular trail through the vineyards; the Sentier de la NĂ©grette is also a walking trail through the vineyards of Campsas, covering 11 km. The difference in length is five kilometres. This lets you choose between a shorter loop and a longer route for your stay. Before setting out on the Sentier de la NĂ©grette, it is advisable to check current trail conditions.
Wine and experiences
Château Boujac is an AOP Fronton wine estate in Campsas and offers wine-focused and sensory experiences as part of various activities. These include a 45-minute escape game in the wine cellar for two to eight people. A wine tasting is included; the price is 25 euros per person. The offer is available from May to September. If the escape game is the deciding factor for your visit, plan within this period and check availability for your preferred date. Its set duration, group size and tasting make it a clearly defined activity to include in your day’s plans.
Château Bouissel offers walks through the vineyards in good weather and by appointment only. Château Font-Blanque also offers tours by appointment only. Check availability before travelling; for Bouissel, good weather is an additional requirement.
Wineries and wine selection
The wineries differ in the colours and formats they offer, as well as their classifications. Château Bouissel offers red, rosé and white wines by the glass or bottle. The estate organically farms 20 hectares on the highest land in the Fronton area, on a unique gravel-soil terroir. Château Carrol de Bellel offers red and rosé AOP Fronton wines by the glass or bottle. Château Baudare offers red, rosé and white AOP Fronton wines in both formats. Château Font-Blanque’s range consists mainly of red wines made from the Négrette grape variety, as well as rosé and white wines made from other varieties. Château Boujac is also an AOP Fronton wine estate. Bouissel, Carrol de Bellel and Baudare offer red and rosé wines; white wine is available at Bouissel, Font-Blanque and Baudare. By-the-glass or bottle formats are listed for Bouissel, Carrol de Bellel and Baudare.
Plan your stay
The options have different requirements to consider when planning: for the trails, you can compare the route lengths; the escape game is subject to the season and has a set duration; and visits to Bouissel and Font-Blanque require advance arrangements. Weather is an additional factor at Bouissel. Check availability in advance for visits that require an appointment; if the escape game is a priority, plan your travel dates for the period from May to September. This way, you can plan your stay around the activity that matters most to you.
