The 800-metre-long Promenade verte is planted with 130 trees, 6,000 shrubs and 23,000 perennials. Those interested in culture will also find plenty to explore in Bois-Colombes: art at the town hall, the programme at the Château des Tourelles and performances at the Salle Jean-Renoir. Parks and cultural venues differ in both their features and their opening schedules.

Promenade verte: a short green route

The Promenade verte is an 800-metre-long, landscaped route. Its planting includes 130 trees, 6,000 shrubs and 23,000 perennials. At this length, it is a short, clearly defined option for spending time in green surroundings. It is open to the public at all times; cycling is permitted, and dogs may be brought along on a lead. Follow local notices in the event of exceptional closures.

Parks with different features

Parc Franklin-Roosevelt, also known as “parc des Tourelles”, features a château, century-old trees and a small cascade. The 2.5-hectare Parc des Bruyères was designed by landscape architect Philippe Thébaud and has sports facilities and a children’s play area. When choosing between the parks, you can use their described features as a guide: the château, trees and cascade are the main attractions at Franklin-Roosevelt, while Parc des Bruyères is distinguished by its design, sports facilities and play area.

Art and culture in different venues

The Château des Tourelles is free to visit and open to everyone. Its annual programme includes exhibitions, educational activities and cultural events. The content changes each year, so a visit offers a changing programme rather than a fixed selection.

Two works by Adolphe Lalire are displayed alternately at Bois-Colombes town hall from November to March. The exhibition is therefore seasonal, and the two works are not on display at the same time. If you are interested in one of the works, check the exhibition information for your planned visit dates.

The Salon artistique has been held since 1927. It presents works by around fifty artists, selected in advance by a jury. The event’s long history and its jury-selected works describe two different aspects of the Salon: its recurring tradition and the range of works on display.

Performances in Bois-Colombes take place at the Salle Jean-Renoir. The schedules change seasonally. If you plan to attend a performance, checking the dates during your travel period is therefore part of the planning process.

Plan around dates that suit your stay

The Promenade verte is open to the public at all times; the town hall exhibition is limited to the months of November through March. The Château des Tourelles programme changes annually, while the Salle Jean-Renoir schedules change seasonally. If you want a particular cultural offering to be a highlight of your stay, check the current programme or dates in advance. For the château, also check the latest visitor arrangements before your visit.
