The Parc de l’hôtel de ville combines an educational vegetable garden with a pond, while the Parc des Champs-Foux puts exercise and illuminated paths centre stage. Other highlights include the history of the Château de Chilly-Mazarin, the Médiathèque Albert Camus, the Chill’in Chilly summer programme and a market with seasonal produce. When planning your stay, you can decide whether to focus on parks, culture or a seasonal event.

Château history marked by two dates

The main construction phase of the Château de Chilly-Mazarin dates back to the 17th century. One building campaign is dated to 1627. The estate was later protected as a classified site by decree of 4 August 1953. The two dates tell different chapters: 1627 marks a construction phase, while 1953 marks the protection of the estate. If you are interested in architectural history, they provide a clear timeline without conflating the building’s history with its protected status.

Two parks with different focuses

Covering three hectares, the Parc de l’hôtel de ville has an educational vegetable garden and children’s playgrounds. Its pond is home to black and white swans, geese, mallards, moorhens and coots. The animals you encounter there may vary. The park thus combines play and gardening with a habitat for waterbirds.

Sport and exercise take centre stage at the Parc des Champs-Foux. Facilities include street workout equipment, a fitness trail with nine stations, a multisport court, a modular pump track and a boules court with three lanes. There are also 3,000 m² of illuminated footpaths and a children’s play area. The park is open free of charge every day throughout the year. Compared with the Parc de l’hôtel de ville, the focus here is more strongly on exercise and sports facilities, so your choice depends on which park activities interest you more during your stay.

Culture and seasonal events

The Médiathèque Albert Camus is a municipal facility with books, CDs, DVDs and multimedia areas for children and adults. If a particular item or service is important to your plans, check its current availability in advance, as collections and services may change over time.

Chill’in Chilly is an annual summer programme. It includes musical picnics, craft workshops, themed evenings, family games and introductory sports sessions. The content is seasonal and may vary from one edition to the next. For the 2026 edition, Chill’in Chilly was free, open to everyone and required no registration. Different participation requirements may apply to later editions, so check the dates and conditions for the relevant edition if you are planning your trip around it.

Fresh produce at the market

At the Marché de Chilly-Mazarin, you can buy fresh seasonal produce twice a week. This gives the market its own place in your stay plans, particularly if seasonal food is one of your interests. As market times may change, check the current market days before visiting. This lets you plan your market visit, park activities and scheduled events separately, without assuming that the same visiting arrangements apply to all of them.
