Scey-sur-Saône-et-Saint-Albin lies on the Saône and combines riverside activities with a distinctive architectural history. When planning your trip, you can choose from several different experiences: the port and its boat rentals, the heritage sites around the church and tunnel, and equestrian activities. This lets you decide which aspects of the town matter most for your stay.
The Saône and the port
The Port de plaisance has two pontoons with space for 24 to 40 boats. The port also has a base where you can rent pénichettes for a relaxing day on the water. The stated capacity may change, so check the current capacity and rental options before you arrive.
The church and historic buildings
The present-day Église Saint-Martin was built in two phases between 1739 and 1761. The entire church is classified as a Monument historique and houses wrought-iron features of significant historical and artistic value. The church therefore offers insight into both its period of construction and the particular importance of its fittings.
The remains of the 16th-century Château de Scey-sur-Saône also reveal different aspects of the estate. They include stables, outbuildings, a washhouse, an entrance pavilion and a temple in the park. These surviving features range from functional buildings to a structure in the park, offering several tangible points of interest in the history of the château.
The Tunnel de Saint-Albin and the Voie Bleue
The Tunnel de Saint-Albin, near Scey-sur-Saône-et-Saint-Albin, is classified as a Monument historique. At 681 metres long, it cuts through a bend in the Saône. Two dates are important to its history: the tunnel was completed in 1843 and opened in 1880, after the final works were completed. The two years mark different stages in the construction of the tunnel. The site also includes the “La Saône et l’Homme” interpretation trail; check local conditions before your visit.
A description of the Voie Bleue dated 19 November 2025 indicates that, after the tunnel, the route follows a shared section through the village of Scey-sur-Saône to Ferrières-lès-Scey. If you plan to take this route, check the road layout before setting off.
Equestrian activities
The Centre équestre des Boulingrins offers introductory and advanced riding lessons, show jumping, Galop exams at levels 1 to 7, courses and participation in competitions. The Poney-club Les Boulingrins at Domaine du Parc aux Daims offers riding lessons for adults and children, as well as introductory pony experiences for children. The activities therefore differ in the formats and target groups listed. Programmes and conditions of participation may change; ask about current options before your visit.
