Beach and access

Plage de Figaretto is accessible to people with reduced mobility and has an access mat. Its availability may vary seasonally, so check whether it is in place before your visit. The plain of Figaretu in Talasani offers a natural, unspoilt beach that has been spared excessive tourist traffic. The landscape and visitor numbers may change over time.

Church of Sainte-Lucie in Talasani

The parish church of Sainte-Lucie in Talasani was rebuilt in the late 17th or early 18th century on the site of an older chapel. In 1850, a lightning strike damaged the building and the bell tower; the church was subsequently restored and the bell tower rebuilt. This means a rebuilding on the site of an older chapel and a later restoration represent two distinct phases of construction.

The church has an elongated floor plan, a barrel vault and a bell tower with an open round-arched opening. The vaults of the nave and choir feature neoclassical trompe-l'œil paintings. A barrel vault is a continuous arched ceiling form; trompe-l'œil uses painted effects to create an impression of spatial depth. The architectural form and the illusionistic vault decoration can therefore be seen as two distinct aspects of the church.

San Petru and Loop 12

The ruins of the San Petru chapel are in Prignani. Loop 12 includes San Petru as a point of interest. It starts at the RN198 near the hiking trail sign in Talasani and passes through Talasani and Taglio-Isolaccio. Other destinations include the ruins of a medieval square watchtower and the abandoned village of Prignani. For hikers interested in cultural sites, the route brings together a religious building, an abandoned settlement and a watchtower.

The dates associated with Sainte-Lucie and San Petru are far apart: the chapel ruins date from the 7th century, while the parish church on the site of the older chapel was not rebuilt until the late 17th or early 18th century.

Mountain biking and trailhead

A mountain bike route to Talasani climbs 5.5 km along a well-maintained track to the village. After a section of about 1 km on the road, the route reaches the San Petru chapel. Trail conditions can change and route information may become outdated, so check local conditions before setting out. Compared with Loop 12, the key reference points for this route are its distance, climb and road section, while the hiking route is defined by its starting point, villages and points of interest.

A remote hiking car park at the end of the D30 in the municipality of Talasani serves as a starting point for hikes, mountain biking and horse riding. Check access conditions locally. The information differs for planning purposes: the car park lists three types of activities, while the mountain bike route gives a specific distance and climb.
