Antisanti offers a range of highlights: panoramic views of Elba and Monte Cristo, historic stone details in the village architecture, and activities at Ferme Sorbelle in the hamlet of Sorbelle. This lets you focus on an interest in landscapes, architectural history, or plants and distillation.

Trails and Panoramic Views

The Sentier d’Antisanti / Pont Genois runs in a straight line from Piedicorti to Antisanti. Check the route details again before setting out, as they may change. The direction is a specific point to consider when planning: Piedicorti is the starting point, and Antisanti is the destination.

The route offers a panoramic viewpoint for a break. In one direction, the landscape view extends to the most beautiful peaks; in the other, to the islands of Elba and Monte Cristo. The Sentier d’Antisanti / Purizzone also offers a panoramic viewpoint, with views of the most beautiful peaks and the two islands. Both trails thus share a similar scenic focus; the Pont Genois route also runs in a straight line between Piedicorti and Antisanti.

Architecture and Local History

The Église Saint Pierre aux Liens d’Antisanti is a Baroque church in the heart of the village. It was extended in 1844. During a restoration, the statue of Hercules that supported the pulpit was replaced by an angel’s head. The extension is part of the building’s history; the replacement at the pulpit is a detail of its furnishings.

A Casa Pietrana is considered the oldest house in the village of Antisanti. Above the door is a corbel stone decorated with a cross and four round medallions. The sculpture probably dates from the 14th century. The house is not open to visitors.

A Casa Marianaghja is notably tall and narrow. Above the first-floor window is a stone characteristic of the 15th century. This house is also not open to visitors. The comparison with A Casa Pietrana lies in the details: there, the corbel stone above the door and its decorations define the features; here, it is the stone above the first-floor window.

A Caserna is a large building at the far end of the village of Antisanti. In the days of the notorious bandit Gallochju, it once housed the gendarmerie; the building is not open to visitors. While the two houses are characterized by their architectural features, A Caserna tells a story of former use.

Plants and Products at Ferme Sorbelle

At Ferme Sorbelle in the hamlet of Sorbelle, visitors can take a self-guided tour of aromatic and medicinal plants. A half-day introduction to the distillation of essential oils is available by appointment. The formats differ: the plant tour is self-guided, while the introduction requires an appointment.

Ferme Sorbelle sells citrus fruits, olive oil, essential oils and liqueur directly at the farm. This makes farm products another distinct highlight, alongside the plants and distillation.
