Champagne tours, a church with historic furnishings and walking routes around the commune give Vandières several distinct travel highlights. This gives you different themes to focus on when planning: tastings, local history and time outdoors.

Plan Champagne visits

The visits listed for 2026 at Champagne Nowack include a tour of the press house and cellar, as well as an introduction to dégorgement à la volée. The visit concludes with a tasting of Champagne and ratafia. As visit packages may change, confirm the details in advance.

Champagne de l'Argentaine also offers a tour of its premises. The family-run Champagne Christelle Salomon estate covers three hectares in Vandières, on the right bank of the Marne. By reservation, it invites visitors to tour the estate and taste its Champagne. Reservation and opening arrangements may change; check them in advance.

If you would like to include visits to several wineries during your stay, confirm the arrangements for each offer separately: packages at Nowack may change, while Christelle Salomon requires a reservation. This lets you plan around each visit's specific conditions rather than assuming a single set itinerary.

Church and local history

The first Église Saint-Martin de Vandières was built in the 11th century. The church preserves wooden pews dating from the mid-18th century and contains numerous glazed floor tiles from the 15th century. Its covered porch was restored in the 19th century; the tiles were listed as a protected object on 23 October 1908.

From the 14th to the 16th century, the Château de Vandières belonged to the Cauchon family. The three washhouses also offer different glimpses into local history: the Lavoir de la Fontaine des Morts was rebuilt. The Lavoir de la rue Gamache is an enclosed structure. The Lavoir de Trotte takes its name from a hamlet of medieval origin.

Vineyards, wetlands and walking routes

Vandières lies in a hollow on the hillside and is surrounded by vineyards. The Brandouille and its associated wetlands are designated as an ecological corridor for wetland habitats that is to be restored. The vineyard setting and the ecological status of the stream and wetlands offer distinct aspects of the landscape.

Numerous walking routes cross the commune. If you are choosing between a walk and a cycling route, the information points to two different options: the walking routes run across the commune, while the Véloroute 52 follows the Marne Valley as far as the Vandières lock.

When looking for a hotel for a stay in Vandières, you can start by deciding what you want to do: visit Champagne producers, explore church and local history, or spend time outdoors on the trails. Then check each property's location and amenities against your own requirements.
