In Louvigné-De-Bais, sacred architecture, historical details around the town and trails through the bocage countryside offer different ways to explore. As you plan, consider whether you are more interested in local history, a walk or a route through the surrounding area.

Church, chapel and historical details

Richard Babin built the nave of Église Saint-Patern between 1536 and 1546. The remarkable stained-glass windows date from the 15th century and therefore belong to an earlier period. Exterior architectural features include gargoyles, a sundial and various other motifs. The nave’s construction period, the age of the windows and the details on the façade offer different points of reference for looking at the church.

The architectural heritage also includes two particularly well-restored bread ovens that can be seen from the roadside: one in Les Patisseaux, along the former Route de Cornillé, and the other on Rue des Saulniers in La Bouvrie. Their visibility from the roadside may change; bear this in mind if you plan to see the ovens during your visit.

Chapelle Saint-Job was fully restored in 2022 and 2023 and reopened to the public on 20 March 2023. This is the date of its reopening at that time, not information about current access conditions. Check these before visiting.

Walking trails and routes

The municipal website, dated 23 July 2026, lists a pump track, a zip line and the “Les Lauriers” walking and jogging trail in Parc des merveilles. For directions, it gives Route de Vergéal, where there is a car park. As facilities may change, check the park’s current information before visiting.

Circuit des Diligences No. 23 runs for 11.6 kilometres through the area around Louvigné-De-Bais, including 6.1 kilometres on roads. The route description accessed in 2026 takes the trail through bocage landscapes and past the commune’s architectural heritage. Near the start and finish, it lists a car park, a water point, toilets and a local food shop. Check whether these facilities are available before setting out.

Another route option is Vélo Promenade® No. 6, which connects Louvigné-De-Bais and Domalain and passes through the countryside between the two places. This lets you choose based on different details: Circuit des Diligences specifies its length and the proportion on roads, while Vélo Promenade® highlights the connection between the two places.

Activities and dated events

In July 2026, the commune announced a free QR-code treasure hunt as a short walk. It was intended for families, accompanied children, friends, residents and visitors. As the announcement dates from that month, check in advance whether the activity is still available if you are planning to take part.

The library was also part of the local cultural programme in 2026: as one of the nine libraries in the Arléane network, it took part in that year’s edition of the Partir en Livre reading festival. The annual early-summer programme ran from 17 June to 19 July 2026. In 2026, the Tablées de Louvigné-De-Bais was held for the third time as a convivial end-of-summer event; it was scheduled for Sunday, 30 August, from 11:30 to 18:30.

An earlier edition of the Tablées, held on 31 August 2025, is described as a convivial picnic, with board games and giant games in the afternoon. These activities refer to the 2025 date; they do not confirm the programme for the 2026 edition. When planning a visit, the specific year details are therefore useful: they help distinguish cultural events and their dates from the permanent features of the town and its routes.
