Milizac combines a family amusement park with historic buildings, a farm shop and a named walking route. This offers a range of approaches to planning your trip: you can focus on leisure activities, local produce or the history of the area. Which of these you include depends on what interests you most about your trip.
Amusement park with a variety of activities
La Récré des 3 Curés opened in Milizac in 1989. Its listed attractions include Tremor, an 80-metre-high free-fall tower. The park also offers pedal-boat rides on the lake. This means the park offers several different kinds of activities. Pedal-boat rides are available seasonally and may vary; check before your trip whether the park is currently open and which activities are available during your visit.
Its focus as a family amusement park is a defining feature of La Récré des 3 Curés. If you are considering making the park a focus of your trip, you can use the specific attraction Tremor and the seasonal pedal-boat rides as different points of reference for your planning. Checking the current activities will help you align your expectations with what is actually available for your visit.
Manor houses, church and chapel
The Manoir du Curru was built in 1238 and is located in the heart of the “Vallée des Seigneurs”. The oldest parts of the Manoir de Keranflec’h also date back to the Middle Ages. The two manor houses therefore offer different historical reference points: a specific construction date is recorded for Curru, while the oldest parts of Keranflec’h are dated to the medieval period.
Another story of construction can be seen at the Church of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul. It dates from the 17th century and was extended in 1924. After being damaged on 7 August 1944, its upper section was rebuilt; the work was completed in 1953. Inside, the church houses statues of Saint Pierre, Saint Paul, Saint Herbot, Saint Roch and the Vierge-Mère, as well as a crucifix. The dates show that the church as it stands today reflects several historical phases of construction.
The Sainte-Anne Chapel dates from the 16th century. It is located in the cemetery of Milizac, near the church. Together with the churches and manor houses, it adds another building from an earlier period to the historical picture of the area.
Local produce and farming
The farm shop at Ferme de Kéroudy brings together products from around 50 farmers and focuses on short supply chains. On opening days, visitors can explore the farm and its educational panels about milk production. The farm shop and farm activities thus combine shopping for local produce with an insight into milk production. As product selection and opening arrangements may change, check them before your visit.
This focus for a visit is quite different from the amusement park and the area’s architectural history: here, the emphasis is on produce from several farmers and information about milk. If you would like to include local produce in your trip, the farm shop and educational panels are two specific aspects to consider when planning.
Hiking in Milizac-Guipronvel
The walking routes in Milizac-Guipronvel include the Tréléon trail. This means that, alongside the park, culture and farm shop, there is also a named walking route to consider as a possible focus. Check the route conditions before setting out. You can give the different themes the emphasis that suits your interests without having to follow a fixed itinerary.
