Eugénie-Les-Bains is shaped by its thermal spa tradition; at the same time, its gardens, local history and nature themes offer more to explore beyond the spa. The attractions cover different interests and give you several starting points for planning your trip.

Thermal Spa Tradition and Cuisine

The Eugénie-les-Bains thermal spa offers a recognized, doctor-prescribed 18-day treatment program for rheumatological and metabolic conditions. Thermal treatments include showers, baths and massages. If you are planning your stay around the treatment program, confirm your medical eligibility and the practical arrangements in advance.

Another option is the wellness ritual at La Ferme Thermale® d’Eugénie. It takes place in an elegant, natural rural setting in the Landes, with an 18th-century atmosphere. All treatments offered there are individual, except for the steam bath. Seasonal opening may vary; if this offering is important to your travel dates, check in advance.

A notable culinary destination is the Michel Guérard restaurant at Les Prés d’Eugénie: it has held three Michelin stars continuously since 1977. Its “naturalist” cuisine combines the great French tradition with natural elements, poetry and creativity. If you would like to include the restaurant in your trip, check the reservation arrangements in advance, as they may change.

Gardens, Exercise and Nature

The Parcours Santé offers a shaded 1.6-kilometer circuit starting from the tennis court. There is a walking option as well as around ten fitness exercises; the route can also be taken by mountain bike. This gives you a choice of a walk or an exercise circuit with several stations.

The Parcours des Orchidées offers a different focus: it showcases orchids of the Tursan that are not cultivated by gardeners, but grow in natural conditions. Benches are available for resting in the Roseraie. Described highlights there include the scent of the roses and the sound of a nearby waterfall on the Le Bahus stream. The rose bloom varies by season. While the orchid trail draws attention to naturally growing plants, the Roseraie pairs places to sit with roses and the sound of water.

Local History and Leisure

The Circuit de la Mémoire de l’eau presents the history of the town and its thermal springs at four stops in the gardens of Eugénie-les-Bains. These springs have been documented since the 17th century. Another historical landmark is the Église d’Eugénie-les-Bains: built between 1861 and 1869, it features a neo-Gothic interior. The long-documented history of the springs and a 19th-century building offer two different ways to explore local history.

Visitors can pick up the Circuit d’Eugénie at the tourist office or join a guided tour of the thermal spa. Before your trip, check whether the tour is available on your dates.

Families with children have another leisure option in the Mini Golf 9 trous. It is located in the municipal garden in the center of Eugénie-les-Bains. Together with the garden paths, local history and thermal spa offerings, it provides a broad range of possible interests for visitors, without implying a set order for visiting.
