The Boucle Bellevue, Église Notre-Dame and Château Le Tros give Tizac-De-Curton three concrete points of interest: an easy walk, architecture and winemaking. The circular route is 5 kilometres long and starts in the village. At Église Notre-Dame, the choir and nave display different architectural forms; Château Le Tros is a winery in the Bordeaux appellation. Three visit options are available there. They offer different ways to explore the area: getting outdoors, appreciating architecture or learning about winemaking.

Walking the Boucle Bellevue

The Boucle Bellevue is a 5-kilometre circular walking route that starts in Tizac-De-Curton. It is an easy walk and takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The starting point is the car park of the presbytery, built in 1752. The distance and duration help with different planning questions: the number of kilometres indicates the scope of the route, while the approximate time gives you a general idea of how long the walk will take. If you would like to take breaks or make longer stops along the way, allow extra time for them. Use the duration as a guide for the walk itself, not as a schedule for additional stops.

The route includes an unpaved path through vineyards and another path between hedgerows and oak trees. The landscape is varied and hilly. From a steeply sloping vineyard on the Boucle Bellevue, there is a lovely view of Château de Curton. The vineyard section and the path between hedgerows and oak trees give the route distinct landscape features.

Church architecture and historical landmarks

Église Notre-Dame has a square choir termination with a rib vault, thick walls and Romanesque-style buttresses. The nave has a false vault and carved corbels. The building therefore brings together several distinct architectural features: the rib vault in the choir, the false vault in the nave and the carved details on the corbels.

The route also takes in historical landmarks. It begins at the car park of the presbytery, built in 1752, and passes Maison noble de Bellevue, which is considered a replica of the presbytery. Château de Curton is another historical point of interest along the Boucle Bellevue. The building has been listed as an ISMH-protected monument since 1926 and has a 30-metre-high keep. From the presbytery to its replica and on to Château de Curton, you will encounter different architectural features, each of which can be clearly identified.

Winemaking and a visit to Château Le Tros

Château Le Tros is a winery in Tizac-De-Curton and belongs to the Bordeaux appellation. Its wine range includes red, rosé and white wines, as well as Crémant and sweet wines. The availability of individual wines may change; if you have a particular selection in mind, check the current offering in advance. There are three visit options to choose from. Booking details may also change, so check the latest information before your visit.
