The forest nature trail above Vlasenice and the sculpture arboretum “Arboretum Vlasenice” on the edge of the village offer different highlights: forest themes along the trail, and garden art featuring ornamental plants and stone sculptures. The nature trail is complemented by play features, a covered rest area and a disc golf course. This gives you several distinct areas to explore when planning your visit: the forest, leisure activities along the trail and artistically designed garden areas.
Forest Nature Trail, Rest Area and Disc Golf
Above Vlasenice, a forest nature trail runs past information boards about the forest. The route is complemented by various play features. The trail also includes a covered rest area equipped for roasting sausages. This brings together forest education, play and a place to take a break as distinct features. If you are particularly interested in the forest, the boards give the trail its main focus; the additional features offer other activities. Seasonal conditions may affect use of the trail. Conditions for roasting sausages may also vary, so check them before you roast any.
A local disc golf course runs along the forest nature trail. You can rent discs and scorecards for this activity at U RudolfĹŻ in Vlasenice. This makes it easy to distinguish the route of the leisure activity from the rental location. If you plan to play disc golf, check the rental service again before your trip.
Sculptures and Plants on the Edge of the Village
On the edge of Vlasenice lies the sculpture arboretum “Arboretum Vlasenice”, also known as “Magická zahrada”. Ornamental trees and shrubs and colourful plants grow there, alongside stone sculptures by artists from around the world. The sculptures were created during several sculptors’ symposia. The arboretum thus brings together garden design and sculpture, while the symposia provide further context for the artworks’ creation.
The different elements give the place a distinctive design: ornamental plants provide the garden setting, while the stone sculptures add an artistic touch. This is a different focus from the forest nature trail, with its information boards and leisure activities. The arboretum is therefore described as a distinct local attraction, and its garden art need not be treated as the same thing as the activities along the nature trail.
Swimming Pool and Named Trees
A swimming pool is available for leisure activities in the municipality of Lhota-Vlasenice. If you plan to visit, check the current opening hours and facilities in advance.
Two named trees also offer specific natural features in the municipality. “Klen u Pechků” stands on private property and has a circumference of 385 centimetres. “Klen u Bednářů” stands on the edge of the municipality; its circumference is 497 centimetres. This means the stated circumferences of the two trees differ by 112 centimetres. For the first tree, its location on private property is important; the second is distinguished by its location on the edge of the municipality and its larger circumference. The two names help distinguish the individual trees without suggesting that they share a location.
The forest nature trail, disc golf, garden art, swimming pool and named trees offer different ways to explore Lhota-Vlasenice. When planning your stay, you can decide which of these themes interest you most; specific information about each offering helps you distinguish between them.
