Vystrčenovice is particularly appealing for a stay where cycling plays an important role: tourism here is primarily geared towards it. At the same time, a marked hiking trail, named landscape features and historic sites are part of the municipality’s character. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Vystrčenovice, you can choose your destination based on whether you would rather spend more time cycling or exploring local cultural and landscape features.
Cycling and routes
Cycle Route 5125 connects Telč and Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, is 39 kilometres long and passes through Vystrčenovice. This is the length of the entire route between the two endpoints, not just the section through the village. The marked Otokar Březina hiking trail also passes through Vystrčenovice. The local hiking and cycling routes connect to a dense network of other paths and routes. This means that there is both a cycling connection between two named endpoints and a marked hiking trail for different types of trip planning. In the surrounding area, low traffic volumes make cycling enjoyable even on class II and III roads.
The landscape in the municipality
The landscape features include the Nová Říše Natural Monument, designated as a Natura 2000 site. Brázdův rybník is one of the bodies of water listed within the municipality. Zadní díly u Bezkoutí, a registered significant landscape feature, is also located there. These names represent different features: a designated natural monument, a named body of water and a registered landscape feature. The landscape thus complements the cycling routes and cultural history, while describing features that are distinct from one another.
Chapel, mill and wayside shrine
The Chapel of the Holy Cross stands in a secluded part of the municipality. It was founded in 1708 by Leypold, provost of the collegiate chapter of canons in Nová Říše. It underwent extensive reconstruction in 2003 and 2004. The local history also includes a devastating event: a fire destroyed Vystrčenovice in 1696.
Brázdův Mill near Vystrčenovice dates back to around 1700; it was founded by the Premonstratensian monastery in Nová Říše. After it ceased to be used for milling in the 1940s, it later served as a sawmill. The mill is now used as a residence and is not open to the public. Therefore, do not plan to visit it as a publicly accessible attraction.
About 100 metres east of Vystrčenovice, a brick Baroque wayside shrine dating from 1773 stands in a wooded area. The municipality erected it in memory of those who fell in the war.
Plan your accommodation and journey
When choosing where to stay, consider how it fits with your travel plans: cycling routes and low traffic volumes in the surrounding area suit the municipality’s primarily cycling-oriented profile, while the hiking trail, landscape features and historic buildings offer a different focus. Bus services provide public transport in Vystrčenovice. If you plan to travel by bus, check the timetable for your travel day in advance. This will help you plan where to stay and how to get there based on the options described, without counting the mill, which is not open to the public, as an excursion destination.
