Vepříkov can be explored through several distinct themes: the chapel built in 1936, a memorial to local residents, an exhibition about life and work in the region in the past, and an educational trail less than two kilometres long. There are also events with different themes—a traditional bike ride, a pond crossing and a celebration featuring a specific historical menu. If you are looking for a holiday apartment, you can choose Vepříkov based on whether local history, the short educational trail or local events will shape your stay.

Chapel and Remembrance

Vepříkov’s chapel stands in the centre of the village and was built in 1936. Services are held there for the pilgrimage and the church consecration festival. Its construction date and use provide two specific points of interest: you can view the building both in the context of local history and in connection with these religious occasions.

The war memorial marks a different theme. It commemorates 20 residents of Vepříkov who lost their lives in the First World War. The remembrance is explicitly dedicated to people from the village, while the chapel is associated with religious use for the pilgrimage and church consecration festival.

Museum and Educational Trail

The Stodola krásných krámů exhibition shows how people lived in the past, which objects and tools they used, and which crafts and other occupations were practised in the region. Its scope extends from everyday home life to regional ways of working and professions. Visits are possible Monday to Sunday by telephone appointment. Arrange your visit by phone in advance.

The Naučná stezka Vepříkovem educational trail covers a different subject: it presents the history, present day and sights of Vepříkov, and is less than two kilometres long. The route thus combines a short stated distance with a broad focus on the village. Unlike the exhibition, which also covers life and work in the region in the past, the trail focuses on Vepříkov itself.

Bike Ride and Local Events

The Tour de Vepříkov is a traditional bike ride; in 2022 it was held for the 13th time. At Vepříkovská lávka, local hunters organised a crossing of a pond in 2024. These examples represent different types of events: a bike ride and an organised pond crossing.

Vepřové hody is also described through a specific edition. In March 2022, local firefighters held the celebration at the local inn; at the time, it was held again after a six-month break. Prdelačka, Prejt and Kroupy, butcher’s goulash, Ovar and grilled liver were served on site. These dishes belong to that edition and offer a glimpse of its menu at the time.

When planning your stay, you can distinguish between local history, the educational trail and examples of events. For the museum, arranging an appointment by phone is the practical consideration for your visit. The Tour de Vepříkov and Vepřové hody are presented here with their respective historical dates; the pond crossing at Vepříkovská lávka is described as having taken place in 2024. Choose the focus that suits your stay, and check the relevant dates if you are planning to attend an event.
