A ride in a historic M240 railcar, a seasonally operated aquapark and several historic sites give a stay in Uhřice a range of possible focuses. The Čejč–Uhřice heritage railway combines a rail service with a railway park; at the aquapark, you can choose from swimming, water games and volleyball. Other attractions include the Church of St John the Baptist, the “Meeting of Two Emperors” memorial and a Rococo sculpture in the village square. When planning your visit, you can decide first whether railways, water or cultural history should take centre stage.

Historic Railway and Railway Park

The Čejč–Uhřice heritage railway offers family rides in the historic M240 railcar. Children can look into the driver’s cab during the ride, and at the station they can have their photo taken at the controls. The railway park includes bouncy castles, a small carousel, creative activities and a model railway, as well as a sand play area and a ball play area. This attraction combines a historic ride with a variety of play and creative activities.

Aquapark: Water Activities and Seasonal Planning

Uhřice Aquapark has a swimming pool with a lane for fitness swimming, a children’s paddling pool, a slide and two additional water slides. Massage benches, jets and loungers complement the facilities, along with water spouts and a water wall. There is also a volleyball court. Use of the court costs 100 Kč per hour. The aquapark operates seasonally, so check its opening period before your visit.

A lifting device enables people with limited mobility to access the swimming pool. If you need this assistance, check that the device is available before your visit.

Church and Art-Historical Details

The Church of St John the Baptist in Uhřice is a Gothic-Renaissance building dating from the first half of the 14th century. Inside the church is a clay tabernacle which, according to experts, is a Habán work from the late 16th or early 17th century. The building thus brings together elements from different historical periods.

Beneath the floor in the centre of the church is a probably vaulted crypt with a square ground plan and sides said to measure four metres. It is said to contain three coffins, as well as the remains of a cross and a rosary.

Memorial Sites and Getting Your Bearings

The “Meeting of Two Emperors” memorial commemorates the meeting between Napoleon I Bonaparte and Francis I of Austria on 4 December 1805, after the Battle of Slavkov. An obelisk stands on the site, surrounded by four lime trees. The specific event gives the place a clear connection to the history of the two rulers.

An information board was installed in 2002 at the entrance to the grounds of Janův Dvůr. It contains maps of the surrounding area and a plan of the battlefield between Brno and Slavkov. Look out for the board when you arrive.

Sculpture and Spring

In Uhřice village square, opposite house number 99, stands a fine Rococo sculpture of St John of Nepomuk. It was probably created in the third quarter of the 18th century in the art workshop of O. Schweigl.

Studánka na Romenově is easily accessible from the road via a paved footpath.
