A 1.7-kilometre promenade connects the municipality of Pasohlávky with the ATC Merkur campsite and the lagoons of the Horní Novomlýnské reservoirs. The Brno–Vienna cycling route also passes through the village; near Mušov, the focus is on Roman archaeology and an educational trail. Aqualand Moravia adds thermal bathing to the mix. When planning your trip, you can choose from routes, historical sites and baths.

Promenade and Cycling Routes

The promenade is intended for pedestrians, cyclists and inline skaters. Its length and the connections described make it a clearly defined way to link the municipality, the ATC Merkur campsite and the lagoons of the Horní Novomlýnské reservoirs along a local route.

The Brno–Vienna cycling route offers a different scale: the nearly 170-kilometre route passes through Pasohlávky. It runs away from busy roads, either on dedicated cycle paths or on quiet Class III roads. This helps you decide whether to focus your plans on a local route or a section of a longer cycling route.

Roman History near Mušov

The Mušov Visitor Centre presents the area’s Roman past through multimedia presentations and traditional display cases featuring archaeological finds. It explores the historical circumstances surrounding the construction of the Roman fortress at Hradisko near Mušov, as well as archaeological traces of the Roman presence in the area.

From the visitor centre, you can follow the “Mušov – Gateway to the Roman Empire” educational trail. It leads to the main archaeological sites at Hradisko. The visitor centre’s interpretation and the route to the sites offer two different ways to explore the same historical subject.

From Pasohlávky, the visitor centre can be reached via the local road towards ATC Merkur Pasohlávky and Aqualand Moravia. Check the route locally before setting off. If you’d like to plan your trip around an event: the Roman-Barbarian festival Germania subacta takes place annually on the first weekend in September and is part of the visitor centre’s year-round themed events programme. Check the exact programme before your trip.

Bird Protection Area on the Věstonická nádrž Educational Trail

The Věstonická nádrž educational trail begins at the Pasohlávky–Mušov dam and runs along the middle Novomlýnská reservoir, an important bird protection area. Its focus is clearly different from that of the educational trail to the Roman sites at Hradisko: here, the emphasis is on the reservoir landscape and its bird protection area. Check local route conditions before setting off.

Thermal Waters and Aqualand Moravia

Aqualand Moravia fills most of its indoor and outdoor pools with natural water from a thermal borehole. The borehole has been recognised as a natural healing spring. The facilities also include 20 water slides and a sauna world with treatments. This makes the bathing facilities a separate highlight to plan alongside the cycling and educational trails.

A special seasonal feature is the outdoor Riviéra pool: its water stays above 30°C even in winter. If you’re planning a visit, check the current opening hours in advance.
