Discover Olší through its architectural history, memorial sites and designated tourist routes. The named places offer a variety of points of interest: a church with a medieval core, a former inn with several historic building phases, chapels, monuments and an annual pilgrimage. When planning your trip, you can first decide whether architecture and commemorative history or the designated routes should take priority.

Churches, an Inn and Historic Building Phases

St. George’s Church in Olší is a state-protected cultural monument. Its core dates from the 15th century; with its prismatic tower, it has retained a fortified character. Its construction date, tower shape and protected status provide several concrete points of interest in its cultural history, rather than defining the place by a single date alone.

In Litava stands a former Baroque inn, which is also a protected cultural monument. It retains its original floor plan from 1734 and acquired its present appearance in 1929. The two dates refer to different aspects of its architectural history: 1734 to the documented floor plan, and 1929 to the building’s later appearance. The former inn’s development can thus be traced through clear dates, without making assumptions about its present use.

Klokočí also has its own points of interest for a culturally focused visit. The chapel stands centrally in the village square and replaced a wooden bell tower in 1894. A monument in a park next to the chapel commemorates four soldiers killed in the First World War. There are also memorial plaques to T. G. Masaryk and E. Beneš beside the chapel. They were hidden during a war and unveiled again in 1968. The chapel, monument and plaques represent different forms of remembrance: religious architectural history, commemoration of the fallen, and the history of the two memorial plaques.

A marble cross in the settlement of Rakové dates from 1870. An annual pilgrimage takes place at the Chapel of St. Anne. Here, you can encounter two distinct historical points of interest: a monument with a specific date of origin and a recurring religious tradition. If the pilgrimage is the reason for your trip, check its date in advance.

Designated Routes and Landscape

The Doubravník–Bozinka–Maňová–Litava–Olší–Sejřek–Doubravník tourist route is designated in the Pernštejn microregion. Another designated tourist circular route starts and ends in Olší: Olší–Košíkov–along the Loučka–Šafránkův Mlýn–Trenckova rokle–Drahonín–Olší Mine–Hájenka–Bor–Sejřek–Olší. The descriptions differ in their stated form: the first route runs through a sequence of named places from Doubravník back to Doubravník, while the second is designated as a circular route starting and ending in Olší. Check the conditions for each route before setting out.

Olší lies on the edge of Svratecká hornatina Nature Park. This gives the place a clear landscape setting alongside its cultural history. If you want to include both in your plans, you can treat the architectural and memorial sites as one focus and consider the designated routes separately, without assuming they share a single itinerary.

Getting Your Bearings and Choosing Accommodation

The road layout in Litava is also specified: road II/385 passes through this part of the municipality of Olší. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Olší, you can make your choice based on the kind of stay you have planned: should cultural history, with its church, inn and memorial sites, be the main focus, or would you like to centre your visit on one of the designated routes? The pilgrimage in Rakové is an annual event; for practical planning, it is worth checking its date.
