Kostelní Radouň can be explored from two distinct perspectives: sacred architectural history and a landscape of streams and ponds. The Čertův kámen nature trail, which connects Lodhéřov and Kostelní Radouň, is another attraction. When planning your visit, you can therefore choose between a more culture-focused experience, a route with information and activity stations, and the pilgrimage date.

Stream and ponds within the cadastral area

The Račí potok flows through Kostelní Radouň for approximately three kilometres. There are 17 ponds within the cadastral area. The largest is Černoleský, also called Panský, covering 11.5 hectares. These figures refer to two different spatial scales: the stream flows through the village, while the number of ponds and the area given for Černoleský, or Panský, apply to the cadastral area.

If you would like to include waterscapes in your choice of destination as well as sacred architectural history, you will find a stream running through the village and a pond landscape within the cadastral area here.

Church of St Vitus and pilgrimage

The Church of St Vitus has been a protected cultural monument since 1958. Its architectural features include a polygonal presbytery with original tracery in the windows and a Rococo pulpit dating from 1768. The two dates relate to different aspects: 1768 dates the pulpit, while 1958 marks the start of its protection as a cultural monument. This clearly distinguishes the dates of the furnishings and monument status.

Another religious landmark in the village is the stone statue of St John of Nepomuk. It stands between the cemetery wall and the parish garden. Its precise location makes the statue a separate point of interest alongside the church’s architectural features.

The traditional pilgrimage takes place on the first Sunday after St Vitus’ Day, 15 June. Its date is therefore tied to a fixed reference day and the Sunday that follows, rather than to the same calendar date every year. If you are planning to travel specifically for the pilgrimage, check the local annual programme in advance.

Čertův kámen nature trail and Radouňské okruhy

The Čertův kámen nature trail connects Lodhéřov and Kostelní Radouň and follows an existing green hiking trail marking. It is 4.5 kilometres long. There are nine information boards and five sports and play stations along the trail. These include swings, balancing and climbing elements, as well as facilities for high and long jumps. The route therefore offers both information and opportunities for physical activity. Since the facilities on a nature trail can change, it is advisable to check the latest information before your visit.

At 659 metres above sea level, Čertův kámen is the highest point on the nature trail and lies in the so-called Klenovský Massif. The elevation refers to this highest point, not to the entire route. For planning purposes, two different measurements are therefore available: the length of the trail and the elevation of its highest point.

For the Radouňské okruhy, the event venue is at the edge of Kostelní Radouň in the direction of Okrouhlá Radouň; the race starts and finishes there. If the race is relevant to your travel plans, check the current event arrangements, as these may change.
