A circular trail runs through České Chalupy; the moderately difficult “Hřebenem Blanského lesa” ridge hike offers numerous views of the surrounding landscape. This gives you different route options when planning a hike: a circular walk that can be shortened, or a ridge hike with a stated difficulty level and many views.
Settlement Pattern and Landscape
České Chalupy is a settlement with scattered buildings, characteristic of the western and southern Blanský les. In the wider regional context, Blanský les is defined by gently undulating horizons, preserved nature, and the historic structures of villages and scattered hamlets. Natural landscape features and established settlement patterns are thus equally part of the character of this region.
Hiking Trails and Route Options
The “Křemežskou kotlinou” circular trail passes through Sedm Chalup and České Chalupy to Nová Ves. You can shorten the hike; it is also possible to take a route that partly follows the ridge. This gives you flexibility in planning your route, without limiting the circular trail to a single itinerary.
Another hiking option is the “Hřebenem Blanského lesa” route. It is a moderately difficult ridge hike that offers numerous views of the surrounding landscape. When choosing, you can therefore weigh up whether you prefer the option to shorten the circular trail and its partly ridge-top route, or the moderately difficult ridge hike with its views.
Another point of reference is stage CZ12.3 Holašovice–Lhenice of the Zlatá stezka: it passes by České Chalupy. This distinguishes it from the “Křemežskou kotlinou” circular trail, which runs through the settlement. This distinction is useful when comparing routes: passing by České Chalupy does not mean the route goes through the settlement.
