In Nehodiv, nature, landscape and local history can be explored as distinct areas of interest. The Stehlíkova Nature Trail covers flora and fauna as well as the history of the villages and the landscape; Dolejší dráhy offers a botanical focus. In the village, the chapel and linden tree provide further historical points of reference. You can therefore decide which interests you would like to shape your stay: natural history, local history or a combination of the two perspectives.

Circular Route and Nature Trail

The Pohoří–Myslív–Nehodiv–Loužná circular route is part of the area around the Stehlíkova Nature Trail, passes through Nehodiv and offers beautiful views of the landscape. The sequence of villages—Pohoří, Myslív, Nehodiv and Loužná—places Nehodiv within a wider route. The nature trail itself has seven stops. The circular route and the nature trail are therefore two distinct points of reference: the route focuses on the sequence of villages and views of the landscape, while the nature trail focuses on its stops and topics.

The nature trail covers flora, fauna and the history of the villages and the landscape. It also explores traces of the writer Ladislav Stehlík. Nature and cultural topics sit side by side along the trail. This gives you a clear distinction when choosing what interests you: the circular route is associated with a named sequence of villages and beautiful views of the landscape, while the nature trail focuses on nature and history. You can weigh up whether you are more interested in the landscape or in the combination of nature, history and literature.

Dolejší dráhy Natural Monument

The Dolejší dráhy Natural Monument lies about 1 km southwest of Nehodiv, on the south side of the road to Štipoklasy. It comprises former communal meadows with numerous protected and endangered plant species. Their former use as communal meadows adds a historical dimension to the botanical focus. Dolejší dráhy is therefore a distinct point of interest for travelers interested in plants and the history of the landscape. The directions and the side of the road also provide specific guidance: the natural monument is southwest of the village, while the cultural features in the following section are located around the village square.

Local History and Landscape

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, built in 1950, stands on the village square. An old linden tree also stands on the square. Its trunk is more than three meters in circumference, and it has stood there for almost 300 years. The chapel and the linden tree represent different timescales: the chapel is associated with a specific year of construction, while the tree’s trunk circumference and nearly 300 years of existence draw attention to a longer period.

The landscape around Nehodiv is shaped by the 706 m-high Stírka hill. Along with the chapel and linden tree, this landscape feature offers a different scale from the two landmarks on the village square: the hill represents the shape of the landscape, while the other features anchor local history in a specific place. If you would like to consider nature and culture together, you can view these different layers side by side without reducing them to a single sight.
