Lesisov can be explored from two perspectives: trails through the landscape and small cultural sites in the village. A protected lime tree, two chapels in different locations and a liberation monument each add their own character. There is also the Cestou menhirů trail from Mokrosuky to Lešišov and a cycling route that passes through the village. This distinction is useful when planning: the tours differ in length, mode of travel and endpoints, while the cultural sites offer their own points of reference. You can therefore tailor your stay to your preferred focus.

Distinguishing the Trail and Cycling Route

The Cestou menhirů trail runs from Mokrosuky to Lešišov and is 6.7 km long. As trail conditions can change, it is a good idea to check the local situation before setting out. Above Lešišov is a field of menhirs where passers-by can take photographs or rest after a relaxing walk. For cyclists, Route 2091 passes through Lešišov. It is part of a 20 km route between Nalžovské Hory and Velhartice. The routes differ not only in length but also in mode of travel and endpoints: Cestou menhirů leads from Mokrosuky to Lešišov, while the cycling route connects two other places. Check the signage and route alignment on site. The road from Svojšice to Mokrosuky also passes through Lešišov and includes a cycle path.

Views and the Field Chapel

On the way to the niche chapel of St Martin, views open up to the north over the hills of the Svatoborské vrchoviny. How clearly they can be seen depends on the vegetation and weather. The chapel stands at the eastern edge of the hamlet of Lešišov, beside a field boundary. Its location sets it apart from the chapel on the village square; its design is also distinctive: it has a rectangular ground plan and two niches in the front wall. The view and the chapel thus provide two different points of reference along the way.

The Lime Tree as a Natural and Historical Landmark

Lípa nad Lešišovem is a protected individual tree in the cadastral area of Lešišov. It was first placed under protection on 21 June 1985. In the past, the Lešišovská lípa served as a landmark along an old route. Its historical role adds a connection to local route history to its protected status. It is also classified as the third-largest small-leaved lime tree in West Bohemia; this ranking may depend on the measurements used. Its protected status, former function as a route landmark and size comparison describe different aspects of the tree.

Village Architecture and Remembrance

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands at a crossroads on the village square in Lešišov. This rectangular masonry building is plastered and has a double-pitched tent roof and an open bell tower. The liberation monument stands at a crossroads opposite the chapel and was ceremonially unveiled on 5 September 2009. The two cultural sites can thus be distinguished by location while also being considered together: on one side is the chapel with its specific architectural design, and on the other is the monument with its own commemorative character. Together with the field chapel and the lime tree, they offer several distinct points of interest for a stay that brings village history and landscape together.
