Českomoravská FATIMA is a pilgrimage site in Koclířov. The place offers several distinct perspectives on religious culture: the Stations of the Cross with their uphill route, the meditative outdoor sculpture complex Memoriál Fatimy, and the church and chapel with their architectural and pilgrimage history. This means the focus is not just on a single building. Depending on your interests, you can focus on the route, the sculptures, or the historic architecture; these themes can be experienced separately.

Stations of the Cross, Sculptures, and Landscape

The Stations of the Cross climb from the former farm buildings to a hilltop above the entire pilgrimage site. The route has a clear direction: up from the former farm area to a point overlooking the site. The hilltop at the end of the path offers a view of the valley of the municipality of Koclířov and two churches. When planning your trip, therefore, it is not only the destination on the hilltop that matters, but also the climb to get there: the Stations of the Cross involve both walking and a clearly defined endpoint. The climb and the valley view bring the walking experience and the landscape together.

The Minutěnka beech avenue invites visitors to meditate and rest. The sculptures take centre stage at Memoriál Fatimy; the complex is outdoors and also has a meditative focus. These are two distinct ways to find a moment of reflection: an avenue that invites you to pause and rest, and an outdoor sculpture complex. When choosing the focus of your trip, this contrast offers a concrete alternative to the uphill Stations of the Cross.

Church and Pilgrimage History

The church in Koclířov is documented as a parish church in 1349. It was remodelled and extended in the Baroque style in 1770–1771. The dates refer to different stages: 1349 relates to its ecclesiastical function, while the later date marks its remodelling and extension. The niches in the cemetery wall also feature unique reliefs. The dates place the building’s history in context; the reliefs provide a specific detail to look for in the masonry.

The Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre dates from 1836 and is the fourteenth and final station of the Stations of the Cross. The date and its place in the sequence provide two different points of reference: the year relates to the building, while its position as the fourteenth station relates to the route. Another historical date concerns the pilgrimage site of Saint Philomena in Koclířov, which was confirmed in 1843. This makes it possible to distinguish building history from pilgrimage history, without treating different dates as equivalent milestones.

A replica of the Capelinha das Aparições from Fátima was consecrated in Koclířov on 2 September. The gardens of the site are called Lurdský park. These two details add a consecration and a name for the gardens to the building and route history. For orientation, the distinction is simple: Capelinha refers to the replica, and Lurdský park to the gardens.
