Černá Voda combines the Rychlebské Trails with a distinctive granite landscape and historic buildings. This makes it an interesting destination for travelers who do not want cycling to be their sole focus: natural formations, a viewpoint, churches and a castle offer other things to explore. If you are looking for accommodation in Černá Voda, you can plan your trip around these different interests, first deciding which destinations you want to shape your stay.

Cycling and finding your way around

The Rychlebské Trails start and finish in Černá Voda, at the parking lot in front of the cultural center by the church. This gives cyclists a clear reference point for both the start and finish. The seasonal Rychlebské Trails information center in Černá Voda offers trail maps, bicycle and equipment rentals, a Merida test center and a service area. If you plan to rent equipment or use the service area, check the center’s opening hours in advance. Plan your starting point and use of the seasonal services separately.

Granite landscape and hiking destination

The Sokolí vrch massif forms Černá Voda’s main panorama. Its terrain features granite boulders, rocky peaks, flooded quarries and deep beech forests. Nearby lies Venušiny misky, a national natural monument protecting a characteristic granite formation. From Černá Voda, you can reach the viewpoint via a green-marked hiking trail of about four kilometers. This offers a specific hiking destination with an approximate route length alongside the cycling options.

Castle ruins, churches and a chateau

The ruins of Kaltenštejn Castle lie just south of Černá Voda. Its well-preserved remains include parts of buildings, fortifications and a tower. The Church of the Name of the Virgin Mary is a protected monument. It was built in 1787–1788 and became a parish church in 1843. An enclosing wall and statues of Saint John the Evangelist and Our Lady of Sorrows are also part of the church.

The Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary lies on the road to the settlement of Rokliny and dates from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The late Renaissance chateau in Černá Voda still stands with its chapel. A report dated March 1, 2023, states that the chateau is not open to the public; check locally again before visiting.
