Štandl, a revitalised wetland and a riding club give Sviadnov several different points of interest. At 350 metres above sea level, Štandl is the highest point in the village; it is also designated as a registered significant landscape feature. If you are looking for a holiday rental in Sviadnov, these themes can help you shape your stay around the landscape, history or horse-riding activities.

Landscape and Protected Areas

The Pod Štandlem wetland was revitalised in 2024–2025. Completed recreational improvements include a wooden footbridge; numerous fruit trees have been planted in the surrounding area. The Ostravice River in Sviadnov is designated as a Natura 2000 Site of Community Importance. The landscape themes are therefore clearly distinct: Pod Štandlem represents a completed revitalisation with specific design features, while the Ostravice represents a designated protected-area status. Together with Štandl, the natural setting ranges from a reshaped wetland area to different landscape and protected-area designations. When making your choice, you can therefore distinguish between specific changes to a wetland and the designation of landscape areas.

Traces of Local History

Significant terrain traces of medieval fortifications have been preserved on Štandl; rescue archaeological excavations were carried out there between 1988 and 1992. This gives Sviadnov’s highest point a historical dimension as well: geographical orientation is complemented by preserved traces and a clearly dated excavation period. The rescue excavations place the archaeological research in a specific timeframe, while the terrain traces reveal Štandl’s medieval connection.

Another cultural point of interest is the mining complex with its headframe, which is designated as an immovable cultural monument. The Church of St John of Nepomuk has an organ built by the organ maker Jan Tuček from Kutná Hora in 1891; the instrument was restored in 2024. These two cultural themes have different points of focus: the mining complex’s monument designation, and the year of construction and maker of the church’s instrument.

Horse-Riding Activities and Getting Around

Jezdecký klub Sviadnov offers children riding lessons, hippotherapy and show jumping. The club also holds several equestrian, hobby and children’s events throughout the year. The equestrian offering therefore includes both named activities and events held on specific dates. If you want to plan your stay around a particular event, check its date separately. This lets you give this focus a different emphasis in your planning from the landscape or cultural themes.

According to the municipal plan from August 2024, tourist route No. 7926 and the Štandl educational trail remain in Sviadnov. These names refer to two distinct points of interest: a tourist route and an educational trail. They complement the landscape and cultural themes with additional ways to explore the area. If a particular equestrian, hobby or children’s event is the reason for your trip, check the event date separately.
