Discover Mostek through two different kinds of hikes: the Medvědice nature trail loops back to Autocamp Mostek, while the regional Lesní stezky hiking trail ends at Mostek railway station. There are also viewpoints and cultural traces that offer distinct points of interest. When planning, it is worth first considering which kind of trail and which themes you want to shape your stay.

Medvědice: Loop Trail and Viewpoints

The Medvědice forest nature trail starts at Autocamp Mostek and returns there after completing the loop. Its starting point is therefore also the return point. The trail passes two viewpoints overlooking Krkonoše and Mount Zvičina. If you would like to incorporate the landscape into your hike, you will find two named viewpoints along a loop trail here.

The Lesní svět app can complement the nature trail with sounds, images and educational information. If you would like to use it, check its availability and content in advance; both may change. This lets you plan the app as a possible additional part of your visit without making it a requirement for the nature trail.

Two Trails, Two Planning Questions

The regional Lesní stezky hiking trail starts in Bílá Třemešná and ends at Mostek railway station. Its endpoints therefore differ from the Medvědice loop, which returns to the starting point at the autocamp. This answers a specific question for your planning: Would you like to return to your starting point, or are you interested in a hike with named places at the beginning and end? The trails can be distinguished by their route format, without treating them as a single combined route.

Bradlo: Viewpoint and Archaeological Site

From the summit of Bradlo, you can see Nové Zámky, Dolní Olešnice and Krkonoše. At Medvědice, Krkonoše and Mount Zvičina are the named viewpoints. Krkonoše is therefore visible from both viewpoints; the other destinations differ. This can help you choose viewpoints according to which landscapes interest you most.

The name Bradlo is also associated with an important archaeological site. It is located in the municipalities of Dolní Olešnice and Mostek. The summit view and the archaeological site are two distinct points of interest: one directs your gaze towards the surrounding destinations, while the other highlights the archaeological significance of a place that spans both municipalities.

Cultural Traces and Leisure in Mostek

There is a chapel in the Mostek cemetery with an image of Christ in the plaster. A survey of the cultural route in 2015 recorded that the chapel was being restored at the time. The image in the plaster is a specific detail of the chapel, while the documented restoration indicates its condition at the time. There is also a cross dating from 1923 before Mostek, in the direction of Dolní Brusnice.

Two leisure activities also come with clear details: the playground in Mostek is intended for children aged 3 to 14. The tennis court can be rented by arrangement with the facility managers. If you plan to play tennis, make arrangements with the managers in advance; rental arrangements may change.

Choose Your Stay Based on Your Interests

The trails and cultural traces offer different ways to discover Mostek: a loop trail that returns to the starting point, a regional route with a different start and finish, as well as viewpoints and archaeological history. If you are looking for hotels in Mostek, you can first decide whether hiking, scenery or culture should shape your stay. Choosing what to focus on can be a helpful first step in planning your trip.
