Milý offers two distinct reasons to visit: historic farmsteads and the Baroque Chapel of St. Michael define the village centre, while the Milská stráň nature reserve lies nearby to the northeast. You can plan your stay around village history, marked trails or nature. If you’re looking for a holiday apartment in Milý, it helps to take these different locations into account when planning.
Nature around Milý
The Milská stráň nature reserve protects communities of warmth-loving plants and animals on marl, so-called white slopes. It is known for a large population of the purple orchid; the lady’s slipper also grows there. Alongside the protected communities, these two specific orchid connections are a key feature of the natural area.
Near Milý, a transmission mast stands on the slope of Vošková Hill in Džbán Nature Park. From there, you can look out over the Slánsko and Kladensko regions.
Hiking trails and route details
A blue-marked hiking trail passes through Milý, while a yellow-marked trail ends in the village. The two trail markings indicate different things: the blue trail passes through Milý, whereas the yellow trail terminates there. Check the trail markings before setting out.
Another option for finding your way is the 17.5-kilometre “Borovice – Stožár GSM” route. It runs via Pozdeň, Hřešice, Srbeč and Bdín to Milý. Along the way, it passes a BTS transmission mast and then descends into the village; the return to Pozdeň is via Srbeč. Unlike the colour-marked hiking trails, this route has a specified length and passes through a series of named places.
Village centre and architectural history
The Baroque Chapel of St. Michael stands in the village square. It dates from 1736 and was restored between 1968 and 1972. The dates mark different periods in its history: its construction in the 18th century and a later restoration. The protected cultural monument includes both the chapel and the land on plot No. st. 1.
Milý’s architectural history is also reflected in the farmsteads in the village centre. They date from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries; many retain groups of agricultural buildings. The village square’s history of a single Baroque building and the agricultural building groups in the centre thus offer two distinct perspectives on the village’s past.
Planning your accommodation search
The road between Srbeč and Hříškov runs through Milý. For planning purposes, you can distinguish the village centre from destinations nearby: the chapel and historic farmsteads are in the centre, while Milská stráň is nearby to the northeast of Milý. If you’d like to combine different interests, you can weigh up whether village history, nature or the local trails should play a greater role in your stay when choosing a holiday apartment.
