Vševily lies on the southern edge of the Brdy Mountains. When choosing a holiday apartment, the town offers several distinct points of interest: walks with scenic views, cycling in the deep Brdy forests, a protected cultural monument, art and winemaking history. These themes can help you choose a location to suit your interests—whether you prefer landscape, culture or a combination of both.

Walking and cycling on the edge of the Brdy Mountains

The landscape around Vševily offers views and sightlines that invite you to go for walks and explore the area. The deep Brdy forests offer opportunities for cycling. This gives you two distinct outdoor activities: on foot, you can take in the views and explore the surroundings, while cycling has the forests as its particular focus. When planning your trip, consider whether you would prefer to explore the landscape on foot or include cycling in your plans.

Architectural heritage and changing art exhibitions

The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk, with a cast-iron cross on a stone pedestal, is a protected immovable cultural monument (ÚSKP 14358/2-2600). It is a distinctive feature of the town’s cultural heritage, with clearly specified characteristics and official protected status. The cast-iron cross and its stone pedestal create a contrast in materials.

GALERIE 10 offers a different focus: it is an exhibition space for works of art in Vševily, located in the stairwell leading to the municipal library. Exhibitions usually change three to four times a year. While the chapel is defined by its architectural features and protected status, the exhibition content changes. If you plan to visit the gallery, it is best to check in advance which exhibition will be on during your travel dates.

Chateau Aureus: location and history

The Chateau Aureus Vševily vineyard is a small, sunny site behind the municipal office. The history of winemaking can also be traced through two dates: in 1995, Chateau Aureus Vševily began gathering information about suitable grape varieties for the unusual altitude of 594 metres in the southern Brdy Mountains. The first wine was bottled in 2002. The two dates mark different milestones: the search for suitable grape varieties and the first bottling. This links a specific description of the location with a timeline of winemaking.

The quarry: diving activities from 2016

Another, quite different activity is associated with the private Vševily quarry. From 2016, it was opened for trial dives and courses through the Lucky Diving dive club and diving school; access was provided through the Lucky-Diving dive club. If you are planning to dive, contact the club in advance to ask whether trial dives or courses are available on your travel dates.
