Route 10 starts next to the school in the centre of Lič and heads towards Ličko polje and Podkobiljak. The 7-kilometre route crosses the polje via meadows, cart tracks and gravel roads. Route 11 also starts in the centre of the village: it is 9 kilometres long, easy and a family cycling route. For a different distance, there is MTB route F30, which is 41 kilometres long, of medium difficulty and has 1,080 metres of elevation gain. It starts its climb in the centre and leads through Ličko polje. Distance, surface, elevation gain and difficulty give you different points of reference when choosing a route.

Cycling and Nature Experiences in Lič

Route 7 also starts in the centre of Lič and passes Forest Fairy Tale on the way back. The route description thus connects the starting point in the village with a named nature experience. Forest Fairy Tale offers visitors a guided tour through an enclosure with deer and wild boar. The natural surroundings are used to introduce children to the flora and fauna of the mountain region. Here, the focus is on wildlife and plant life, while the cycling routes differ primarily in their length, surface and elevation profile.

Those who prefer to get around on foot will find marked walking trails at Vicićev Most, where they can explore nature. There is also a picnic and barbecue area by the river. The reconstruction of Vicićev Most was completed in 2023. The combination of walking trails and a picnic area offers a different focus from the cycling opportunities in Lič.

Culture and History

In the centre of Lič, the ethnographic collection is housed in the school building. On display are local archival materials, documents and photographs, objects from non-European cultures, Croatian naïve art, church vestments and liturgical objects, as well as the furnishings of a bourgeois living room. Visiting hours are listed as 3 to 5 p.m. on Sundays in July. Check in advance whether these hours are still current.

The Snow Madonna shrine is also located in Ličko polje. According to local tradition, it is associated with an apparition in 1733. The collection and the shrine offer different ways to explore cultural history: one features a variety of objects and documents, while the other reflects a local religious tradition.
