Donja Motičina combines forests and hills with hiking trails, cycling routes and its own plum-growing tradition. Donja Motičina is 5 to 6 km from Našice. Našice offers infrastructure for healthcare, education and culture. The area’s local and landscape features give trip planning a rural focus, while Našice offers an additional point of reference in these three areas.

Hiking and cycling

The “Stari Vodovod Seona–Križanje ispod Bedemgrada” hiking route is listed as 5.2 km long, with an estimated walking time of 1 hour 40 minutes. Another hike leads from Seona to the ruins of the medieval fortified town of Bedemgrad. The Našička geološka staza starts at the edge of Seona, by the spring of the Našice waterworks; there is a covered rest area with tables and benches there.

From Donja Motičina, a hiking trail passes the Tivanovo mountain lodge and heads towards Petrov vrh in the Krndija Mountains. Another route, Staklana–Dobra Voda, starts in the hamlet of Staklana in Gornja Motičina and leads to the Dobra voda spring. It passes the Jovac quarry and runs mostly along a forest road.

A variety of destinations are also described for cycling. The Motičina–Pijeskovi cycling route, classified as very easy, starts in Donja Motičina and passes the Jovac quarry and the Pijeskovi area. The Donja Motičina–Gazije MTB route runs along the slopes of the Krndija Mountains and uses mostly forest roads. Another cycling route leads from Donja Motičina via Gazije to Petrov vrh. Church and cultural traditions

The Church of All Saints in Donja Motičina is designated a cultural monument. It was renovated and expanded in the 17th century and restored several times since. The building’s history and monument designation offer a cultural focus of their own, whether you plan to spend your stay hiking or cycling.

The cultural and historical event “Motičino moje drago selo” is an established tradition held as part of the Municipality Day celebrations on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; a 31st folklore event was held as part of it. During a procession for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, girls in white dresses scatter flower petals in front of the statue after Mass; young women and men in traditional costumes carry the statue.

Every autumn, the traditional Dani slavonske šume event takes place in Perivoj Pejačević in Našice. It includes a market for products from rural Slavonia and tastings of traditional Slavonian dishes.
